Make it easier for commenters to know how comments work and what things mean.
For instance: My profile picture has a pen on it but I can't figure out what that means or why it is there. Other people ask, but I can't find an answer. If comments are disabled, make a notice to say they are and consider adding why. Some articles you can comment, others not.

Hi Sarah & Angie -The pen badge means you have been recognized as a commenting Top Contributor. :) You can read more about how to earn and keep the badge below. A fix is also in the works to have the badge re positioned so it doesn't cover up everyone's profile pic. Thanks for the feedback!

I agree totally. I like the "pen" badge but sometimes it's on every persons profile pic. I had to research how I got the badge & how to keep it. Maybe make that "badge" a little ****** to get.
