Please hire Jim Genia to either supplement or replace Maggie Hendricks. At one time, Cagewriter had mediocre content and a good comments section. Maggie's presence drove away the good comments. It was probably not 100% her fault, as there's a strong misogynist presence in the MMA comments. But she is a writer who gives the impression that she doesn't know about or care about MMA, which is a large part of it too. I really believe Maggie has destroyed the decent comments to the Cagewriter blogs. Since the content itself was not notable, the comments were the reason to read. I used to check into the MMA blog all the time. Now, there are days I don't read, and my disinterest will only grow. You (yahoo) seem not to care much about MMA, but unless Jim Genia is asking for far more money than Maggie, you can cheaply revitalize a dying part of your sports coverage. Just my 2 cents.

I am tired of seeing people writing comments that are abusive. Most of the abusive comments show racism. This has to stop. I have been insulted enough. Whenever I click Report Abuse, I expect the comment to go away. There is a reason whenever I click it. You should punish those who break the comment guidelines. Review each comment before allowing it to be posted. That way it saves us all of having to see those comments.
I have clicked on the Report Abuse button a number of times and nothing gets resolved. The comment is still there. I am tired of this. Please fix this now. This is a very big issue.

every time i read a yahoo sports article it is more personal feelings from the writer than it is about the sport. example, the hockey blog you posted about the fight said nothing about the reason it happened, said that fights in NHL can be staged, and was written in the same way my 13yr old would write. i don't care how the person feels about the sport, all i want to know is what happened and i still have no idea because the writer did that poor of a job. also, do yourselves a favor and get some real editors. if you are going to call it news, then make sure there is something to report.

I’ve been using Yahoo as my main sports news and fantasy sports source, along with using it as my homepage, main e-mail service, and main search engine (I picked Yahoo over Alta Vista and never looked back), ever since I signed up for a Yahoo account on July 29, 1998. Recently, however, I have noticed that more and more Yahoo sports columnists are injecting their own political ***** into their articles, and slamming people who disagree with their views. This was exemplified by the recent Ryan Lambert article (Dec 24, 2012 “What we learned” NHL article) in which he lambasted Tim Thomas for (1) Refusing to go to the White House and meet President Obama, and (2) supporting the right of the owner of a company to express his personal views on gay marriage.
In his article, Mr. Lambert publicly ridiculed Tim Thomas for his views, resorting to name calling (nutbar, lunatic, jerk, and kook were among the words he used), twisting the facts around, and making certain negative implications about him (he’s a racist and supports discrimination against gay people). I am no Tim Thomas fan, but the way Mr. Lambert wrote his article disgusted me. I want to read about sports, not what the columnist thinks about athletes who differ from his political views.
For me, this is the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back. I haven’t made a New Year’s resolution in about 30 years, but for 2013 I resolve to find a different online source for my sports news. Of course, this will most likely lead to me finding a new fantasy sports provider, e-mail provider, search engine, and homepage too.
