Yahoo's running out of Time
Is anyone steering this ship? Your board is no longer intuitive and many of the new features still contain bugs - a pain in the butt to be sure! Your portal used to be one of the hallmarks, but now users continue to exit stage left (after almost 15 yrs I too am ready to throw in the towel - what a shame).

Navigating the threads is mystifying to me. If you click on a poster you get a list of prior posts. Can you tell what stock they relate to? No, not without further clicking. The Permalink and Go To Topic functions are confusing and I still don't know what the line on the left side of certain posts is supposed to mean. Is this stuff explained somewhere? The Ignore feature just hides the post instead of getting rid of it so you still have long pages consisting mostly of hidden posts. Totally pointless. The entire thing is just atrociously implemented and a GIANT leap backwards as far as I can tell.

I agree, I'm a frequent poster to one specific company message board and using Yahoo message boards is becoming nearly untenable. I'm sorely ready to leave and start a direct blog for those interested in the subject. Chief gripes:
1) No rythme or reason to why some posts work and others don't. I post simple message with no url's and a couple of paragraphs of say a press release. No matter how I try to post, either copy press release to notepad to eliminate formatting or hidden characted then recopy and paste into a message form, or type directly the post just never shows after preview. This happens repeatedly. Yahoo should build something into preview that warns you what is wrong with a post and why it won't appear.
2) Totally inconsistent treatment of URL's. I appreciate the effort to add back in the ability to post URL's to known good web sites but again totally inconsistent functionality, some major major news web sites not allowed. Again, build a more specific warning into preview. If a message is going to be rejected then tell me.
3) Disappearing posts, this seems to be better but for a while there whole message threads went missing. Sometimes appear if you viewed by Message but by Topic seemed non existent.Point 1 is the most serious, annoying and most likely to push me off and other boards users with.
New feature request: have the ability to determine what country someone is posting from.

What a shame true I was hoping the same message boards are not what they use to be
