  1. It is too slow for a fluid experience on 3G on an iPad 3

It is very slick, but it is painfully slow. Scrolling up and down has some lag (not much, but noticeable compared to scrolling in Mail or other apps), and (much worse) scrolling between topics (left/right) and navigating to articles involves several seconds of waiting. This is on an iPad 3 via VZN 3G.

  2. General layout

I like the general layout of the contents page, but it feels a little too neutral. It might look better on an iPad than it does my computer, though. It gets worse when you actually click on an article to read it. I feel like I'm reading what someone wrote in Microsoft Word. I think it could use some borders or a little color...just something to make the page pop.

  5. Eliminate article summaries?

Since many of the article summaries are chopping off mid-sentence due to design issues, perhaps it would be better just to focus on headlines and images, and delete article summaries entirely?

  6. Voting down

I'd like it if voting down removes the article from the feed immediately - possibly with a fadeout. Just telling me 'we won't show you more like this in the future' doesn't reassure me this particular article isn't going to reappear tomorrow, and it's not giving me fine enough control over what I want suppressed. I might not like the particular person in the article but still be interested in its broader topic.

  7. Accidental interest deletion can not be redon

I accidentally clicked on an interest when managing a collection - and that removes the interest from the collection without any warning. Then there is no way for me to recall what was the interest that I removed to be able to add it again

ideally there should be a confirmation check before removing an interest, or at least have that remove operation triggered by a specific icon (currently it is happening when you click anywhere in the row of the interest)

  8. Upper Left Corner

The upper left corner design is not appealing. It contains a truncated word "ug." Plus, the thumb up and thumb down are not for like or dislike as expected, they prompted me to different articles within the celeb category.

  9. I don't like scrolling left-right AND up-down.

I find it annoying that scrolling left-right doesn't show me a full page's worth of content, and only one page; having to scroll down to see the rest of the info is a distraction, and I quickly find myself scanning the uppermost items and moving on. Any way to have stories within a section spit between multiple adjacent left-right pages to stay above the fold? (I realize "above the fold" is nonsense these days in a traditional web page layout, but in this FlipBoard-style left-right scrolling layout, it has an impact.)

  10. length of pages

since we're swiping/scrolling sideways from page to page, could the pages be designed with the same length? Seems the top page is much longer than the others ...

  11. Reading an article on Deskop is not a good experience

When clicking on an article on desktop, you end up on a page with a big picture in the middle, wasted space on the side, and the text at the bottom. Desktop have better, bigger screen so a better UX should be possible

  12. tiles are a bit small

There are too many tiles, of various sizes, which makes the page flow hard to follow. I would bigger tiles, or a better arrangement.

  13. Tile design

I like my colorful account tile and would like to give the other tiles colors or backgrounds too - maybe an image that relates to the topic if it's simple enough.

  14. Sorting of articles on topic pages

For topics where the date is not that important like for Health or Lifestyle, I would rather have the articles sorted by subtopic or at least would like that option. It would make the page less confusing.

  16. Different approach to dual axis scrolling + different tiles view on Top Stories

    Hi,

how about a different approach to dual axis scrolling? Following idea for Mobile:

    1. vertical scrolling:
-> Zed home is infinite stream of articles (mix of all your interests, e.g. the top stories or latest).
-> only a small tile with article category (interest), article title to allow quick scanning.

    2. Tap on the article tile will not open the article, but instead make the tile bigger unveiling an article summary, image if available and also actions like "read later", "share" etc..

    3. When an article tile is in focus (e.g. in the middle of the screen) during vertical…

  17. arrows on this page can be confusing

I thought there were sub-interests because of the arrows. I don't see how useful they are and should just be eliminated on pages like this.

  19. difficult to know which section will come next

While on a section, say "Buisness", its difficult to know which section will come next and how to bring that section. Its not intuitive to use the arrow keys and the affordance of the arrow is not enough to give the user a cue that there is more content on the either side.

  20. Option to click "on" or "off" for pics

could there be an "on" or "off" function for pics? Some add nothing to the content and some are just of sensationalistic value (like a particular one yesterday that I saw multiple times)
