  1. I want to be able to rearrange tiles

I want to be able to move the stories around relative to one another in each feed, some people are more visually oriented than others, and like to have things arranged in particular ways. Some might call it neurotic, but I think it would be a pretty cool feature.

  2. Thumbs up/down

I think it might be useful to add the thumbs up/down icons on articles in each section. That way, it's possible to see what you've liked or disliked as you skim. It's especially useful because you could see what you've read as well.

  3. Use escape button to close article and fall back to article tile and not to top of page

    1. For people who are right handed its easier to have escape button as an option to close a article page and go back to article tiles. So can we have both escape / back button to go back to previous page that contains the tiles

    2. When we close the article using "Back / escape (assuming)" It loads the tiles page and it starts from the top again. User need to scroll down again to the tiles to continue skimming from where he left off. I think back button or escape should be done should that it take the…

  4. I don't like scrolling left-right AND up-down.

I find it annoying that scrolling left-right doesn't show me a full page's worth of content, and only one page; having to scroll down to see the rest of the info is a distraction, and I quickly find myself scanning the uppermost items and moving on. Any way to have stories within a section spit between multiple adjacent left-right pages to stay above the fold? (I realize "above the fold" is nonsense these days in a traditional web page layout, but in this FlipBoard-style left-right scrolling layout, it has an impact.)

  6. Content is not fresh enough

I understand certain content can't be fresh all the time. But in interests like finance and sports i have been seeing the same tile that are 3 or 4 days old.

  7. For future - target ads carefully

As a female reader, I don't want to see ads like Fisker's car ad with the swimsuit girl and the tagline 'designed to get you hot'. I just don't want to see this kind of content in a 'personalized' reader. Please consider capturing sex of user to ensure that advertising is not blatantly offensive to the end user - or provide a way to 'report ad as inappropriate/don't show me this ad again'

  8. RSS Feeds

I'm seeing a lot of truncated content coming from RSS feeds from partners whose content we have full rights to. Is there a reason we're pulling truncated content vs full feeds? e.g. http://stage.zed.yahoo.com/Arts%20%26%20Entertainment-yct:001000031#

  9. Design for two kinds of Interest - Persistent and Non persistant

I think Interests there are two types of user interests

Type 1: Persistent - Here user basically declares his interests like his favorite team or actor or politician etc .... current zed design handles this well

Type 2: Non Persistent Interest - These are based on current trends / news
Example: Tornado Irine - People want news about this to be surfaced only when this item is treding. I dont want to add Irine in my interest and later have to manually clean on my interests.

    Few ideas to solve this

    1. USe Thumbs up down to be integrated with…

  10. Could there be an automatic checkmark function for articles we've already read?

When we read an article and click on it, could that maybe prompt the tile to then change into a different color/shading or to display a checkmark or some symbol that tells me I already read it? So when I revisit, I can easily spot what I haven't read yet.

  11. Whats with the ads?

Nothing against political campaigns, or frisker, or golf, but can we remove them until there is real ads?

  12. I can't respond to responses to my ideas

Feedback system, not z9: I paste feedback, the feedback is responded to, and I can't follow up with a clarification (no password doesn't work, my current known passwords don't work, and the change password functionality gives me a submit button but nowhere to enter a password.)

  17. Eliminate article summaries?

Since many of the article summaries are chopping off mid-sentence due to design issues, perhaps it would be better just to focus on headlines and images, and delete article summaries entirely?

  18. get search working

When I try and select my preferences in terms of content, the fields that interest me are not available. If the search function were working I would then be able to populate this better.

  19. I want to be able to highlight a set of words and add them to my interests

while on an article, I want to be able to click and drag to highlight some text and then an option will pop up to add that text string as an interest, or find other articles that match that text string.

  20. add cycle navigating through multiple collections

currently, if I have multiple collections: a, b, c, d, I can only navigator forward or backward. For example, I start with a, go to b, then, c, then d. Now if I want to go back to a, I have to go back 3 steps. The more collections you have, the worse this problem gets.

    How about make it like a, b, c, d, a, b, c, d... ?
