Have it if one person stalls in a game if the other three players hit boot it will remove the player stalling after 1 minute of stalled play
This is a wonderful idea. It would get rid of those who chose to stall a game, rather than play fair and square
GET RID OF D-NIL, STALLERS AND BOOTERS!!!!!
Sounds like a plan!
SOME PEOPLE PLAY 4 FUN
I agree should be put in place
there is NO reason a spades game should take so long to play I come here to relax and play a game but cant relax! If the 3 min play a card was put to 1 min a card they wouldnt hold of a game for hours!
seems since you removed the part to show your not a bot, the bots are jamming up the lobby's so that it is tuff to log into pinochle games if you can get logged
on at all.
STOP don't add any more convoluted rules to the game.................... GET RID of the UNDERLYING cause of stalling................... THE "GAME LENGTH OPTION"
Get rid of the "set game length " option and give points based on cube value..... and you get rid of the stalling problem............... you cannot stall more than current game ............. as opposed to how it is now... (if you sign into a game with game length set to 101 ... you are locked in for 101 games and you host can stall you for them all)
Get rid of SET GAME LENGTH
This is a waste of time band aide....... fix the root cause of stalling or cheating.......
Restore the game to the way it should be played.
Please REMOVE the “SET GAME LENGTH” feature ..... let the double cube work as in normal backgammon, and reward points based on cube.... not convoluted formula which discourages most players from playing anyone with different points than them because of fear of points formula should they lose game.
You have distorted the game…. Since when should you lock your opponent into a 101 game marathon? AND THEN YOU GET THE STALLING TACTICS>>>>>
You are totally discouraging players from playing anyone except one who has similar points rating because of the way you award points. People get booted from tables, tables set empty waiting for the right player. A player spends more time trying to get a match with the right player than it takes to actually play the game.
It’s human nature to want to accumulate more points and to rise in points ranking……. But you have caused mass confusion and abuse. Foul language, cheating, and hostility is the norm on any given Backgammon room because or your distortion of the backgammon game.
It is a very simple fix…. Not a thousand lines of code or a $million dollars of investment…….
JUST REMOVE THE “SET GAME LENGTH” OPTION………. And AWARD POINTS BASED ON THE CUBE…………..
Then you can play anybody at any table and have a great backgammon experience.
- No more stalling... because you can bear to wait the time limit for one and then it's over...... rather than letting your opponent stall you for 101 games
No fear of losing points because your opponent has way fewer points rating than you
- No waiting for the right person to play
- No checking the “yahoo.com cheaters list” before you play every opponent
- No being locked into a 101 game marathon because your opponent won’t double
How obvious is this
I like the idea that the other 3 players can boot a player that is stalling. 1 minute might be a little quick, but I would even go for that over waiting for a stalling player
o the last two comment are mine don hinkle
yes any card game i wonder if they were playing cards in my kitchen would they pout and not play a discrace to the games
Yes that is the right idea
Yes.....wonderful idea! Three can boot a staller out of a game!

Yes they should make the time way shorter. I had to deal with ton of people leave during the game or stall for 5 minutes and wait forever for the forfeit. Sometimes it never showed up or waited longer than the 5 minutes for the forfeit. A few times it went to forfeit after 5 minutes and i clicked yes to win and the game continued.
Not just stalls. If one player is abusive or stalls, the other three players can press boot and remove the player and cause him/her to lose the game. Losing points is what some of these stallers care about. This will be a disincentive for stallers
I already posted something similar months ago, Yahoo hasn't done anything about this and it doesn't look like they will either. It's a shame because there are so many stallers who do this regularly.
