   Police officer shot in face and head by shoplifting suspect at department store. The officer was shot by an black male who refused to comply. The head lines make no indication that the suspect was black. But if the officer had shot him the headlines would have read white officer shoots black male.

5. By not censoring my ability to comment on Yahoo news articles or video content

   How does not allowing Yahoo users to comment on "news" articles or video content that state opinion rather than facts improve discourse in this very divided nation. By stifling the voice of opposition to the "approved" narrative that is obvious to all conservatives, you are creating more "radical" feelings. Your disclaimer "Our goal is to create a safe and engaging place for users to connect over interests and passions. In order to improve our community experience, we are temporarily suspending article commenting" does not improve the experience. It simply silences the free exchange of alternate view points.

14. New format is forcing users away

    I'll be switching to a new source of years after over a decade reading it on yahoo. I have dealt with many format changes but this one is the worst of many bad ideas that have hindered the user experience over the years.

    • No longer a way to see a list of top stories. Instead you get 4-5 stories under each category, forcing you to check each category individually rather than a ready list of top stories from each being presented.
    • New design is not for readers. The new design is a picture book of huge pictures and (sometimes misleading) headlines. No story preview of the first paragraph to help assess what one wants to read. Though the large pictures make it obvious you no longer want to report print news. I am over the age of five. My news needs no picture, much less the picture being the only preview to the story received.
    • The "More for you" section likely is the feed we were used to seeing but it's at the very bottom and with a redesign this extensive I don't trust it. For me? I don't log in to review my news so what is the "For Me" based on?

    Terrible redesign over all. Switching to the very next source I can find that emulates the previous format.

    You post a picture of the latest contestant voted out of Masked Singer on the mail news feed. You don't actually name the person, but the picture of the character is enough. Put the show's logo on there & say "Latest contestant voted off Masked Singer" or something. Stop with the spoilers.
