How can we improve Yahoo News?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".
(thinking…)

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

  1. Look up the definitions of "NEWS". and apply it to your page.

The term "NEWS" is widely defined as recent, up-to-date (new), and of generally relevant to most people. Most of your postings don't qualify. Many are days old, out-of-date information (and close to the top of the lists). WAY too many 'stories' from highly-biased sources (i.e. Huffpost). WWAAAYYYY too many "sponsored" posts, disguised as stories. And NOBODY cares about the Kardashians!!!!!

  3. Pay attention to and act on these suggestions

Get rid of the "stories" which link to multi-page dragged out non-stories which just try to make you accidentally click on a link on their jumping around page.

  4. Checking your sources

Every day, I see stories on Yahoo News from " The National interest". Is Yahoo sure these are not Russian propaganda? They seem like it to me. Have you checked your source of these stories carefully?

  9. Cortez

Why do you now cover Rep. Cortez e more often than you did the Kardashians? She is a member of the socialist democrats who ran on the democratic ticket, she is a phony. She is 100 miles to the left of moderate democrats yet you act like she is the second coming.... I guess any cute woman is something yahoo cannot get enough of, your anti male bigotry is disgusting.

  10. Breaking news?

Stop bugging me to make yahoo my homepage. I only come to your ****** site to get to my email account. You NEVER have "breaking news." So, stop claiming that. You are consistently behind nearly every site on the internet. Here's one example. ‘Very telling’ that Trump didn’t know his own anti-ISIS point man, former official says. This story is ALL OVER the internet. Not a word about it on yahoo. I'm sure you'll have it sometime after the holidays though.

Try balance in your editorial and topic selection. Looking down the list of 5 "popular in the community list", 3 are about Trump (either being indicted, or shake-ups in the staff), a fourth is an SNL parody about if Trump was black, and the fifth is about Republican ruining the American Democracy. See a pattern here?

  15. Re Vatican and ****** abuse of children

Investigate the rate of incest in families and close friends. The issue would have never come out it if hadn't been for Catholic survivors insisting for decades. NCReporter reported regularly since 1985. Also investigate why the APA (psychiatrists) are still refusing after 30 years to recognize trauma in childhood (Developmental Trauma) For many years they were saying childhood memories of *** with adults were a fantasy --and that the children wanted it. They still have not acknowledged their error despite thousands of survivors speaking up of their lifelong distress.

  16. Quit having me click twice or more!

When I click an article to read, I don't want to have to click another link to 'read more'. Why do you think I clicked the link in the first place, to hopefully have to click more links? I immediately leave the page and never look back. Same with a full page ad, I just close the browser window and move on. If you want readers to stay on your site maybe you could make it easier without the annoyance of redundant clicking.

  17. Yahoo News leaning left

Under current Yahoo leadership I have witnessed a distinct tilt to the left in reporting, story selection. It is imperative that your news pages reflect a unbiased and balanced reportage. At the moment they do not! You have strayed from the tenets of journalism in favor of endorsing a left leaning ideology. As a long time Yahoo fan I am disappointed. You have taken sides and are now alienating over one half of the US population. Big mistake.

  18. Less articles about children being abused

Please post less news articles about children being physically and/or sexually abused. I can't browse Yahoo News without seeing disturbing headlines involving children. It's traumatizing even for your readers to hear these stories.

  19. Fake, Biased News Sources

More and more I am reading inflammatory articles written by suspect news sources about the President and Democratic figures. Though Yahoo has been my homepage since at least 1995, I am about to rip Yahoo from my daily usage. I cannot subscribe to such drivel, falsehood, and political propaganda. Yahoo is quickly turning into Fox News.
