First, you should remove that Ad fromthe middle of my monitor so that I can read the story.
Their seems to be an Ad in the middle of my monitor for "Katie Couric World 3.0" that covers up about 1/3 of what I am trying to read and I can't find a way to X it out. Makes it hard to read anything at all. While it may be easy for people who know their way around a computer to remove this it can be difficult for a non-techy Senior Citizen. It seems like I can't go to any page on my computer without having this same problem. You all always seem to make it harder rather than…

Please remove the section highlighting from Yahoo News
Recently, this was added. When you click a section on the page, a black or (in Chrome's case) a blue ~10 pixel highlight line now encircles the entire section. Specifically, in Chrome it's horribly ugly and it serves no real purpose. In Firefox, it's at least better (it's a 1 pixel black line), but I don't use Firefox. I use Chrome. This big blue uneven line around the whole section is just amazingly horrid to look at and quite pointless. Please remove it.

Fix the notifications. Most of the replies don't wind up where they belong
Most of the time when I click on a notification if it is a thumbs up, it works (usually) but when I click on replies, it almost never works.

sponsored content is not relevant to my news choices, fix it.
I have made choices for my news feed, but the ads you are showing and the sponsored content is not relevant, in fact it is the exact opposite of my news feed. I Choose science, business, world news, technology and you show me ads for movie stars and other trash. Clearly I have no interest in that since I actively REMOVED those from my news feed. It would seem to be a waste of an ad display since it just makes me grumpy. I used to work at Yahoo, get with it!

Notifications is still very broken
After spending 15 minutes "managing" my notifications by deleting the thumbs-up notices one-by-freakin-one because you don't have a way to eliminate such notifications nor removed them en masse, I left myself with only the notifications for additional comments. There were 15 covering three articles, and 10 of them sent me to random articles I had never visited, none repeated. I was sent to sports articles, entertainment articles, similar articles, but not the ones I had commented on... completely random.
With features in notifications being non-existent, the least you can do is code the system to actually go to the article…

"What to read next" column--- never updates
In the right hand margin of my yahoo news, I've had the same "what to read next" options for weeks.. it never updates. I understand that some articles are trending, but "The Relentless Obsession to Execute Jodi Arias?" and "Woman rescued from chimney" , and "Obama makes rare campaign appearance" stories are all clearly stale.

Notifications Linking to unrelated articles
Notifications, informed me there was further comments on an Article (Seth Rogan confronts Exec...) when I clicked the link to read said comments, I was connected to a Yahoo sports Article
which I had never visited, let alone commented on
this has happened before with other articles/comments as well

Yahoo's Health News Headlines has started with an old AP story "Spanish Judge Orders Release of Ill Boy's Parents" since Sept 2. Too long!
Please update the Health News Headlines so this six-week-old story no longer features as "news." You should check the comments it's getting; people see it as proof that Yahoo News doesn't know what it's doing!

Easier and Dependable Access to Own Comments on News Articles
Getting notifications that a comment has generated "likes" or "replies" is nice; however, clicking on the notification and being misdirected to a totally unrelated news page or an error message is annoying. Also, once on the article, we should be able to search for our "names" to easily read responses. Your system doesn't always put our comments first when linking to the notification when it does find the right article. Aggravating, for lack of a better word, is what it is!
