Sponsored "articles" are ruining my Yahoo experience.
I have been a faithful Yahoo user since the 90s. One used to be able to find the account date in account information, but that seems to have moved, I know my account dates back to at least 1998 and I have been on Yahoo daily since that time.
I used to spend time browsing headlines and clicking through to read many articles from your home page. However since the inception of sponsored content, I avoid the Yahoo home page.
I understand the need to generate profit but when every other "article" listed on the home page is in fact sponsored content, I lose my interest in the page. I do not care to spend my time deciphering actual articles from sponsored content. I could understand one or two sponsored links but looking at the Yahoo's home page in another tab, I stopped counting at 7 sponsored links (there were more).
Can your site continue to generate money from sponsored links if you drive your readership away?

I agree 100%! Yahoo is so incompetent that they don't even bother making sure the technologies they employ work properly resulting in pop-up ads that fail to load scripts properly and bomb out my entire browser constantly!
I am going to find another source for news reading because I am tired of this incessant failure on the part of Yahoo. You would think they could hire some script writers with some level of competence instead of young kids who have to rely on script writing programs that are inadequate for the task.

I too have been a long time user of Yahoo and am fed up with the constant playing of videos that starts with ads and then go to videos. I have set the video box to be muted and yet after a period of time it will start playing with sound and I have to unmute and then mute it again. I never go to the articles that are videos as I simply want to read the news. I guess I will need to find another source for my online news and get my yahoo mail on my phone.

Agreed, I hate looking down the list and confusing the ads for articles.

Agreed. I'm giving it until February. I can pop my email through other servers. I don't have to go to Yahoo at all. No other page covers half my pages to read. I have to scroll line by line to read the pages, and to see all the links on their main page.

I couldn't agree more. All your ads either slow the computer down to a crawl or stop it completely. I love your articles, but the added stress fighting all those ads makes it not worth reading.

This is exactly right. By putting up ads and making them look as if they are news stories, Yahoo is encouraging me (and undoubtedly many others) to NOT use Yahoo as a news source. The deception lets us know that Yahoo does not adhere to standards of honesty or integrity, and it severely reduces the credibility of Yahoo as a news conduit. Since Yahoo started this practice, I have ended up signing up for several other news sources under the principle that Yahoo may mention a news story, but to get the actual information, I would do best to leave the Yahoo site and read the news elsewhere. Yahoo News is only for entertainment, not for being informed, because the chances are very good that the news article I click on is just some ad copy, not real article.
