just text in videos
If you have a video it should be of a person speaking that is involved in the story, or a person reading the story to you. Not a video of the text from the actual article/news story.
What is the point of the video if we still have to read the article? Save some time/money on video production?

Verizon/Yahoo make their money threw clicks on their content , so now that the did away with comments I will not click on any of their articles and deprive them of a pay check . Anyone reading this should do the same .

Like this other feedback, video should be somebody talking not an artificially created video assembled from some photos and simple text. Videos are supposed to help people who don't want to read pages and pages of text and get the synopsis by listening to a video that is only a few minutes. That purpose is totally not achieved by these videos that you pack with the news items. Just text alone might be better if you cannot include real videos. Also the annoying backgrounds is one other reason these videos are not my favorite.
