Stop autoplaying videos on the Yahoo News home page
I see a lot of complaints about videos autoplaying when news articles are opened. That's annoying because it is unnessarily chewing up bandwidth. Recently when I first go to the Yahoo news home page, a video autoplays on the upper right side of the screen. I find this extremely annoying. I've used Yahoo News as my primary online news source for at least 12 years and now I think I need to look at less intrusive alternatives.

I have, on occasion, tried to turn autoplay off. After a while though, it seems like it turns itself back on. The most grievous thing is that it turns audio on, and starts playing music or talking. I could live with just the video going, but the audio is disrupting the office. Like others, I am considering switching to alternative news sources.

I am so aggravated by an autoplay advertisement. It took over my browser the other day. Screen kept scrolling down to it and it would not allow me to read article. I was ready to abandon Yahoo both as a user and investor!!!!!!!!!!!!

If this keeps going, I will be leaving YAHOO! News. I listen to Pandora while on the PC and all these video/audio bits are annoying and intrusive. I left the Washington Post because of similar issues. I'll keep looking until I find good news without the intrusions.

The video never plays, and it won't let me scroll, or read the story because it jumps back to the video. I have to leave the page every time. It is getting to the point that I may never use yahoo again.

This kind of advertising will cause me to stop viewing Yahoo's page and only come to collect my emails.

Well, since Yahoo hasn't fixed this, I'm using AdBlock to just block it out.

This is one of the mosts annoying things to me. It doesn't even give me a chance to choose what I want to watch It just throws up another one. Most I have no interest in watching.

Agreed! Remove ALL auto-play videos. Very annoying! If I want to watch it, I'll start the video by myself.

I have shut off autoplay as per your instructions and yet this News video continues to play. I'll stop and it just starts again when I scroll down. Also, when I click on an article and then come back after reading it, the original page takes forever to reload!

Also stop the autoplay feature in the main feed of the homepage. It also chews up bandwidth and is super annoying.
