New setting request for Roster Changes
Can we have a setting that makes you set one single roster of hitters and pitchers for the entire week (and keeps the same bench players on the bench all week)? Otherwise, everyone just loads up on pitchers and there's no point to keeping bench hitters. The weekly roster changes setting is not that helpful because you can still move pitchers in and out of your starting lineup for the week (as long as you set your entire week up on Sunday/Monday). To help explain this more, think about football, you can't put a RB in your lineup for Thursday game and then switch out that RB for someone starting on Sunday. Currently, Yahoo only allows one method, which is to allow you to switch players throughout the week. My league will move to CBS next year if this is not available, and it's a shame because I like Yahoo's interface best.
Why would I do that? My opponent won't do that and he will score more points and win. Please vote for my suggestion.
Dude....you can do that on Yahoo!
All you have to do is BN all pitchers except the 1 you want to pitch for that week. Put that guy in an SP:or P slot...and the only stats you will get are from that 1 pitcher. All the pitchers in the BN slots will not have their stats counted.
Once your roster locks for the week(Sunday night or first game Monday) the pitchers on the BN will be on the BN the entire week.
I am in a private league buddy, and it's a normal setting in CBS and ESPN leagues, so Yahoo can do it. Choose your best hitters and pitchers and leave the bench on the bench for that week. It's not that difficult...it's actually a lot easier than having to move guys in and out of your lineup.
That won't happen buddy....
You would need to be in a private league with these rules defined.
I'm not debating whether you can make changes after the week starts. Lets say you have 5 pitchers on your bench and only 1 SP roster spot (extreme example). With both daily and weekly Yahoo formats, you can set up all 5 of your pitchers to accumulate stats for you as long as they all pitch on different days. What I'm requesting is a format that makes you choose your best pitcher and that's the only pitcher that will accumulate stats for you that week. So, you can't move different guys in and out of your lineup (whether you do this each day with Daily or all on Sunday with Weekly). It's a common setting on other sites, but, not available on Yahoo. Whats the difference between daily and weekly lineups other than you have to set a weekly lineup on Monday, there is no difference otherwise as far as I can see.
You are not understanding how weekly leagues work. When you set your roster before midnight pacific time Sunday night, you can make no changes for the rest of the week until the following Sunday for the next week.
If your league allows changes up to the time of the first game Monday, your roster locks for the week until the next Monday.
Transaction and lineup deadlines in Fantasy Sports
Fantasy Baseball, Basketball, and Hockey have several different roster deadlines that can impact your team, depending on your league's configuration.
Find out which settings your league uses. From your league's homepage, mouse over League | select Scoring & Settings.
Lineup changes (active and bench)
In all public leagues and custom leagues with default settings, you can move any player between bench and active positions until the scheduled start time of their game.
Once their game is scheduled to begin, their position will be locked and you won't be able to swap them with another player.
Keep in mind, scheduled start times can vary from the actual start time, so always try to have your lineup set as far in advance as possible.
If your custom league uses weekly roster changes (like "Weekly on Monday"), all lineup changes have to be made by the start of the first game of the designated day of the week for your league.
If there aren't any games scheduled on the designated day of the week for your league, the deadline is 11:59 PM PT on your deadline day to make lineup changes.
All lineup changes made after the deadline will take effect the following week.
Scenario (Weekly on Monday)
#1 - Monday's first game starts at 11:20 AM PT, you have until 11:20 AM PT on Monday to make lineup changes. Changes after the deadline will be reflected on your team the following Monday.
#2 - No games on Monday, you have until 11:59 PM PT on Monday night to make lineup changes. Changes after the deadline will be reflected on your team the following Monday.
Transactions (adds, drops, trades)
Daily - Tomorrow leagues
Daily - Today leagues
Even though it's possible to make lineup changes on your deadline day, if your custom league uses weekly roster changes (like "Weekly on Monday"), all trades, adds, and drops need to be completed by 11:59 PM PT on the night before the designated day of the week for your league. All transactions made after the deadline will take effect the following week.
