Two-Way Player Statistics
Hello - With three players currently in MiLB (Hunter Greene & Brendan McKay) or heading to MLB shortly (Shohei Otani) who both play the field and pitch regularly, does Yahoo have a solution for how these player's statistics will be handled? As far as I can tell, Yahoo has never had a player eligible for both a pitching spot and a position player spot, and hitting stats have never counted for pitchers, nor have pitching stats ever counted for hitters.
If that remains the case, how will it be determined which "side" of the ball these players will be eligible for in the fantasy game when they reach the MLB level? If Otani comes to MLB in 2018 and plays first base three times, rests day four, and starts a game on the mound on day five, and does that with regularity, how will Yahoo handle that?
I'm curious to know because I'm in a keeper league where we are already wheeling and dealing draft picks for the 2018 offseason, and if someone like Otani will only be eligible for one or the other, that will affect everyone's value of him.
Thank you in advance!

This is complete BS. I picked up Mckay 2 months ago, assuming that his eligibility would've been changed from 1B to SP. His value as a SP is much, much higher. Now, I'm stuck with this useless 1B prospect when someone else is going to use higher waivers to claim the player I actually intended on picking up. You should've changed his eligibility of the existing player to SP and added a new hitter profile. Yahoo, this is some horrible work

I understand that it is difficult to add a 2-way player to the system and that Ohtani was probably an exception. Until the two-way player system is worked out can you at least switch the position eligibility for Mckay from 1B to SP. His value as a pitcher is much much higher than as a hitter.

Please change Brendan McKay current status from 1B to SP! He is much more a pitching prospect than a hitting prospect and he could be called up any day.

How can McKay not be available as a pitcher by now???

I think at this point yahoo has to treat McKay like they did Ohtani - two different player profiles for a hitter and a pitcher. Which I think is silly on Ohtani but in this it's completely fine because it doesn't look like McKay is going to hit much in the big leagues so everybody would only want him as a pitcher anyways. He was just called up to triple A so it's likely he is a week or two away from getting called up (as a starting pitcher), at which point yahoo will need to make him eligible as a SP anyway why not do it now? Please and thanks.

Yahoo... please treat this with some urgency and let us know how you will deal with this as some of us are in highly competitive leagues and we don't need to be blindsided by your decisions

Yes!!! McKay needs to be switched to SP eligible ASAP.. that’s his position.. down the road he might pose a 2 way player problem like Ohtani but he can’t hit well at the moment and is one of the top pitching prospects in baseball

He could be called up soon. He a great pitcher. Need to have him available as a SP.

Listed as a First baseman But Not as a Pitcher. He's Going to Be Called up as a Pitcher

Please resolve this soon. Either create a second McKay to be consistent with how you've treated Ohtani or solve the larger issue and allow your service to have hitter/pitcher eligible players.
THIS IS URGENT. McKay is an extremely valuable asset to fantasy leagues and if this isn't solved now it will look bad for yahoo. You have time still, but not much.

I agree, please change the current McKay to SP status, or at least if you are going to do what you did with Ohtani, have a button pop up for those of us who already own McKay asking whether we prefer him as a SP or 1B (without it costing a waiver claim!) Of course, most people will want the SP anyway. This is urgent as rumors are circulating that the Rays will call him up in June as a SP!

Please change McKay's position to SP or P. He's potentially a two-way player so he should be designated as such. He has higher status as a pitching prospect so I think his first entry on yahoo should be as a pitcher, not as a 1B. He is currently listed in the yahoo system only as 1B, but it doesn't say (batter) like with Ohtani. At the very least, this should be set-up like the Ohtani situation. But I think the current listing for McKay should be as a pitcher.

I believe McKay should be treated like Ohtani. Can he be added as a pitcher as well? Currently he is just 1B

Will this profile Last more then a day commented
Yahoo is being stubborn about Ohtani. It is possible for him to be an SP, UTIL player. CBS did it.

I am also interested in how this will be handled. With Otani presumably to be in the MLB in 2018, I hope resolution to this issue is in the works.

I agree. In my weekly Roto keeper league I'd like to see Otani have SP, OF positional availability and you can choose where to start him each week, but you only get one or the other stats. If you start him at pitcher you only get pitching stats and the opposite of you were to start him in the OF or Util position.
Side note... I've already started this topic over a month ago without reply. Good luck! Here's 3 votes!
