Scoring - Allow retroactive scoring and roster changes
Requests to allow retroactive scoring and roster changes for fantasy baseball. Currently, there is no retroactive scoring and rosters cannot be edited for previous dates.

I am sorry but I think this is a horrible idea. This would lead to a lot of cheating and he said she said which you cannot simply have in sports. Hindsight is always 20/20. I always double check any super-important roster moves to make sure they are finalized (especially in the playoffs or trades). I pray Yahoo doesn't do this as it will create wayyy more headaches than it will fix problems.

I am happy I am not the only Commissioner or manager that feels this way. In the championship round, the guy who has been in 1st the whole season had two ace pitchers moved to the bench today, and they locked on his bench before the game had started. So he contacted me and I tried to do it, but then the game did start. To remain impartial, I brought it to the league and they agreed. I thought it was possible to move things around because it is the case in football, but now I am finding out that I cannot do anything to retroactively make roster changes for team or even retroactively change stats. I know it's a lot of power and it opens a lot of discussion for leagues, but that is part of being a commissioner. It's one thing if people are whining about it after the game was played and such, but when you are on the phone trying to figure it out before the game actually starts, that is frustrating to not be able to help.

While I would welcome this idea for mistakes that were from the I know I made this change (likely forgot to hit accept button), I know it would become a massive issue when teams pick the wrong guy to start or have a pitcher get blown up. Oh I meant to bench that guy I know I did.
I lost a championship last year because I left three guys on the bench that I thought I started. So while I can see the value, it would bring a lot of problems to leagues as well.

We have a rule in our league that you MUST start your bats if they are playing and on your bench. As the commissioner it is VERY hard to keep up with these rules on a daily basis and it would be helpful if I could go back and adjust line-ups after the games happened. I even put a special request through yahoo chat to adjust one line-up for one day before the week was over and they could not accommodate my request.

****, no! You don't think commissioners will abuse this on a daily basis? "Oops I forgot to play the guy who had 3 homers".
Part of playing fantasy is paying attention to the rules and to your lineup. Don't expect Daddy to fix all your mistakes. -

Yahoo gives the least control of any league, would also like to be able to change scores. We have some rules currently not allowed on yahoo and it would be nice to adjust scores.

I agree. This would be useful in baseball for numerous reasons and is needed for a key league of mine this season.

I have to different formats where retroactive scoring would help us out immensely. The first is called Skanky. The way this works is that everybody gets to protect 5 players - 2 offensive, 2 pitchers and 1 player of the managers choice. Then on Monday, the winning manager gets to swap 2 of their weaker players (skanks) for hopefully two better players. But almost every Monday, there's afternoon games, which lock before either the swaps or made or before they're ;posted. Whenever this happens, we obviously lose the accumulated stats or points from the player(s) that are locked. If retroactive active scoring was available, we could make the moves on Tuesday and then place the players in the starting line ups For Monday and nobody would lose any stats or points.
The second format retroactive scoring would benefit is Morpheus. In this version, instead of drafting individual players we draft two complete teams and merge them together into one. We also have to change our pitchers daily. But there's been several tines this season and in seasons past where Yahoo! hasn't made our starting pitchers weren't available until after their start Again, we're cost both stats or points. But if we had retroactive active scoring like in football, the missing starters could be added after the fact and we wouldn't lose anything.
Please add this feature.

Football is because every team has 1 game per week or a bye week. Baseball, every team has a different schedule ranging from 4 to 7 games in a given week.
Football, there are 17 possible weeks. Baseball, there are 27 possible weeks.

Commissioners should be able to make retroactive roster changes. I've had a few players randomly get benched for no reason this season and I know others that it has happened to as well. It's available in Football so why not have it in Baseball?
