Playoffs - Odd number of teams and more Bye week options
This playoff format would allow for an odd number of teams in the playoffs and other options for Bye weeks in the first week of playoffs. Currently, this is not an option for playoff formats.

Why is it you can edit the schedule during the regular season, but once the playoffs start everything is locked down and you cannot edit any matchup? ESPN and CBS have allowed the Commissioner to customize playoff matchups for years and Yahoo has never caught up to this. Many leagues have their own playoff system that doesn't fit into the mold that Yahoo gives options for. Allowing Commissioner's to edit the matchups would easily solve this problem. I simply don't understand why Yahoo refuses to add this feature when your competitors have had it since 2009. C'mon guys.

As a commissioner I would love to have the option to shorten the season so that playoffs are finished by the time fantasy football starts. That shaves only two weeks off an incredibly long season. Several managers in my league agree with me.

Absolutely insane they extend all star break matchup and shorten Championship.

Completely agree with this. Or if don't even make All-star week an extended week. Just don't count those Thursday-Sunday Games. Have the next match-up just start the Monday after the All-Star week. In any case, the leagues should have the control on the decision.

Give commissioners the option of how all star week can be handled in the head to head scheduling. This way we could have league votes as to whether we want a short week 3-4 day matchup during the all star break, or the extended 10-14 day matchup. This should also work in conjunction with the championship week as it should normally be 2 weeks.
The last few seasons Yahoo has extended the all-star break matchup and shortened the championship matchup to 1 week. It is nonsensical and should be fixed.

This has to happen in 2016...right?? right??

Still think 2 week playoff matchups should be an option. Baseball and football.

Ideas include:
- allow for consolation bracket for 8 team playoffs; in our league we would love to be able to implement the consolation bracket for the bottom four teams who miss the playoffs; we talked about those teams competing against one another for draft position for the next year but with yahoo's current settings this isn't possible
- two week championship
- allow for playoffs to start sooner so season ends sooner due to teams resting pitchers/position players, etc. at the end of the season AKA regular season is one week shorter -

Agreed - playoffs is such a crapshoot when each matchup is only 1 week. Ideally, make it an option to have at least the semi-finals and finals both be two weeks. That would better mirror real playoffs (best of 5, best of 7, best of 7).

the way the playoffs are set up now, doesn't let you fill a complete team, because the pro teams are resting some of their players. End everything a week before the season ends.

Not only the final, the quarterfinls and semifinals also should be 2 weeks each one!!!

This is the simplest, most obvious idea and should have been implemented 10 years ago. Please add this!! So much more relevant to serious gameplay than Smack Talk.

I would like To have more options to end the regular season and start the playoffs in head to head leagues. This definitely seems like an easy thing to make happen. I know other sites have more options. Playoff match ups in mid to late September are horrible with all the September call up playing. Please add more options to end the season sooner.

Helps better teams who start slow in the playoff race.

tiebreaker should be overall win %, not regular season record against your playoff opponent. Why should 3 random regular season weeks take precedent over who had the better overall season. At the very least it should be a customizable option.

It's bad enough that the Yahoo default when two teams are tied at the end of the regular season is "record during the last week.." That has almost nothing to do with which of the tied teams is more worthy. It's worse that commissioners can't make the change to "head to head record during the regular season." Why is this not an option? Just got bumped from my league's playoffs via tiebreaker even though I crushed the team that got in ahead of me twice this season. That's dumb. At least give commissioners the chance to choose, or even better, just make the default head to head. I beat that guy twice. Is the fact that he went 7-5 and I went 5-7 this past week somehow more meaningful than that?

I would only enter this Roto/H2H/Playoff Hybrid by mistake. Then Quit in a fit of rage. Then complain about it incessantly in Yahoo feedback.

Our league has TWO payouts. One for winning league in regular season games and one for the championship. Most of the time the league winner does NOT win the championship ... LUCK BE A LADY during playoffs!!!
So making it two weeks would favor the league winner, like watching the rerun of season ... NO FUN!
