Playoffs - Odd number of teams and more Bye week options
This playoff format would allow for an odd number of teams in the playoffs and other options for Bye weeks in the first week of playoffs. Currently, this is not an option for playoff formats.

One team did not pay his league dues. I would like to have the option to manually eliminate his team from the playoffs. Perhaps add a commissioner tool to edit the playoff teams or regular season ranking. This would also be useful in the event of collusion or cheating.

Still gathering feedback? Just tell us it's planned for next year... I think I'll plan a move to ESPN next year!

I really like this idea. It does give managers a little more incentive to continue playing even when the first place team seems to be uncatchable.

Very intriguing! The Rotisserie still does not compete against other teams, in H2H settings, but based on the top tier of the season ending standings, participate in a playoff setting, similar to the H2H format.

Levi is on to something here... perhaps the "regular" roto league lives on as is... but the top 6 get to participate in an additional playoff league for the last month of the regular season in a playoff format. Roto Champion and Playoff Champion would be crowned - It would give the late season bloomers a little shot at bragging rights...

An option to enhance late-season drama, and increase sustained interest in Roto leagues by allowing those at the top of the standings to compete in a playoff championship to determine the league winner.
- Leagues could be configured so that a specific number of weeks at the end of the MLB season could be allotted for playoffs, just like head-to-head leagues
- During the designated playoff time, the league rules do not change, the standings simply reset for the top teams.
- The team at the top of the playoff standings at the end of the season is the league champion.
- This could greatly increase excitement down the home stretch of the MLB season for teams which find themselves in reasonable place in the standings, but ultimately looking up at an insurmountable deficit (a common roto scenario).
- This could help differentiate Yahoo's product from all of the other fantasy products.

I would like the option of a 2-week championship that doesn't include the final week of the season, where many of the best players are rested for the playoffs or shut down.

In custom leagues you can change it.

2 week playoffs should definitely be an option. 2 week regular season matchups is good too

change the tiebreaker rules.. the current ones are terrible. give commissioner the choice of tiebreakers

Anonymous, they use that for regular season as well. I know this because I am in 2nd place right now because of this according to Yahoo. This means, although I beat the team I am tied with he has 1st place (a better position) because he played a scrub last week and I didn't. Now imagine this was for the final spot, again, even if the better team head to head ties with someone, if he/she played a tougher opponent that last week, they could be screwed if the person he/she tied with had a cupcake for the last game.

This stat only applies to playoff tiebreakers, not regular season.
The H2H are not used as regular season tiebreakers because each team is evaluated against how they performed against the entire league, not the team(s) they are tied with to make the playoffs.

To use the prior weeks results as a tiebreaker is unfair and loses the meaning of H to H. This is especially true if the player listed second beat the other player during the season. ONLY if head to head against the two tied teams is still tied is that system remotely appropriate.

*3 weeks

Have the option of having two weeks for each round and/or possibly even 3 rounds for a championship matchup.

I don't care about fantasy football, but last year a lot of good pitchers got put on the shelf which crippled me during the playoffs. I think a two week championship to end the season around the first two weeks of August would be great.

My league is going on its 12th year (all in Yahoo!). This year, our H2H league expanded from 12 teams to 14 teams.
When we chose the "Top 6" make the playoffs option, we assumed the bottom 8 would all go into the consolation bracket without the Bye weeks. But our bottom two teams (#13 and #14) don't make it.
This makes us sad since we have a "prize" for the last place team via the consolation bracket.
Can we have more bracket options, or just make it customizable? I'm sure there are other H2H league that want various playoff options.
Thanks Yahoo

I too would like a 2-week Championship week back as an option for a H2H format

I love the YAHOO and hate the ESPN interface. However, not being able to customize the tiebreaker rules was a deal breaker and I went to ESPN. I miss YAHOO, but rather not have incorrect standings.

Yahoo, can someone explain what's happening? It's only been requested for a few years now.
