Requests for new roster positions such as IL+.

Use the NA list. That's what your suggestion is for.

Good to see y'all had already started this petition for DTD to become an extension of the IL in fantasy baseball and basketball. I guess I was too lazy to check for similar petitions the other day before posting my petition for the same thing.
Anyway, I asked everyone in my 10-yr keeper cash league to stop by to vote it up. So in checking the ranking for the petition now I see that Yahoo has merged our petitions since they are basically rooting for the same. That's actually a good thing.
Yahoo has also merged my petition as a comment in your petition, which you can see in this comments section.
We are now 30th in the ranking. So let's go guys... let's continue to spread this around. Post the link to this petition in all your Yahoo fantasy leagues, regardless of sport. I'm sure many of the guys in hockey and football leagues also field baseball and basketball leagues on Yahoo. We really DO need DTD to work more like IL/ IR for all sports.

It would be great if Yahoo were to assign the IL designation to injured players who are expected to be out for an extended period of time due to surgery or a bad injury early on before the season. Having to wait until April for MLB to officially place those players on their official IL does not seem right. It is more than obvious that some of those players will be on the IL for a month or two, perhaps longer. Good examples of the type of injured players I speak of are Zack Britton, who just got surgery and is expected out until June at the earliest, and Seth Lugo, who also got surgery and is expected out until at least mid May. Those guys are currently DTD and occupying bench spots because DTD is not really considered a real designation by Yahoo. DTD is basically just there for looks.. It serves no real purpose other than let you know the player may have a nagging injury or something is up with him that may keep him out of the lineup. But many truly injured players are often given the DTD label and their fantasy owners can't move them out of the way since DTD is no real designation. Early on the season, DTD keeps fantasy owners from moving injured players out of the way to target temporary replacements in prep for the start of the season. Like Britton and Lugo, there are many other even more valuable players with the DTD tag. Injured players that are likely months away from returning. But it would be a mistake to just cut them in deeper leagues or in keeper/ Dynasty formats. It seems particularly unfair for us that play the H2H format and have a limited number of moves allowed per week (Acq/ Week) to have to wait until after April 1 when MLB officially places their injured on the IL. At that point we will be forced to use our valuable (and limited) Acq/ Week moves for week 1 just to fill those spots... something we could have done much earlier without having to spare a week 1 move to do it. Yahoo, we know you are just playing by the book by making us wait for MLB to label injured players w/ the IL designation. But at the very least please make DTD a real injury designation or consider creating a new designation - say like, TO for Temporarily Out (much like y'all did for COVID-19 players) - so that we may get some of the injured players (the ones with surgeries and extended recoveries ahead) out of the way until they are officially placed on the IL by their teams once MLB kicks off. This will give us a chance to continue making roster moves and prepping up ahead of April 1 without having to use our limited week 1 roster moves (for those in H2H formats). Nothing much to ask… just create sort of a transient IL (a Temporarily Out) designation where we can get important injured players out of the way without having to drop them. In fact, it would be even easier if the DTD designation worked the same as the COVID-19 designation. All of those injured players I speak of are currently labeled as DTD, even though we all know many will be out for weeks or months. Why not make the DTD designation a temporary IL designation that will allow us to put injured players away for a few days until players either go on the extended IL or get healthy? Like the COVID-19 designation for players with Covid or for those that have been quarantined due to suspicion of Covid. It will help everyone tremendously, especially as stated, early on before the season begins; and it will be even more useful for those in H2H leagues that can only make a limited number of weekly FA/ waiver transactions after April 1.

Baseball and football needs IR+

You have Sale and Syndergaard out for the year and they are listed as day to day!

Not really sure why this is only a hockey option. Needs to be across the board- players are sitting out all the time with minor injuries and they should not take up roster space when they are not playing for their real life team. An absolute killer in keeper leagues when keeper players are shut down at the end of the season by their real teams and not being moved to the official IL.

If it's good enough for hockey, it should be good enough for baseball and basketball. Even football lets you put injured players on IR once they're ruled Out for the game.
Let baseball and basketball also have the DL/IR+ option like the hockey game has.

Ya I have both yelich and Baez as well as encarnacion in our keeper League. Obviously not going to drop them so now I'm stuck with 3 guys who aren't playing on my bench when I could normally place them on the ir and pick up a couple guys. Come on yahoo

Agreed. I also have Yelich and I'm about to go into the finals with a wasted roster spot (obviously not dropping Yelich). Fix this Yahoo, it's a joke.

It stinks to get down to the fantasy playoffs and lose a Javy Baez or Christian Yelich for the year. MLB teams don't bother with DL listings once the rosters expand in September, at the most critical time of the season during fantasy playoffs.
This would also work well for the short term paternity or bereavement lists as well.
Don't recall if they have added the 7 day concussion list as part of true DL either...if they haven't, they should.

IL+ is a great idea that is long overdue, especially for keeper leagues. Teams are late to identify their injured players as members of the IL, and when rosters expand in September, many teams won't even list players on IL because they simply don't need the roster spot (Baez/Theo, you're killing me!). I'd love to designate Baez to my "DTD spot" and add a healthy player but instead he's stuck on my bench (this is a keeper league- I'm not dropping Baez).

I'm not sure that I totally agree with the willy-nilliness of this suggestion... But at the very least, this needs to be a feature that activates when MLB expands the rosters, when injured MLB players often AREN'T put on the DL/IL, even if they are done for the season.
And sure, I'm one of the unfortunate Yelich victims this season in a keeper league, but I wouldn't wish this **** on my biggest fantasy rival. It's not really fair to any fantasy manager trying to win a Yahoo fantasy baseball playoff, especially in keeper leagues, to be handcuffed by a technicality. If, in that time, you want to use it as the original poster suggested, that's fine... but at least give us the option to have some say in our fantasy player's status during the fantasy playoffs.
I also agree it should be an optional rule when setting up your League.

If you are against this being a thing in your league, you still have the option of turning it off. Don't ruin it for the people that understand a 40 man roster is going to impact whether a team chooses to put a player on the DL or not - and in a keeper league this is a problem. If you don't want it in your league, fine - tell your commissioner to turn it off.

I should have added this is an issue for keepers leagues, as I generally only play keeper/dynasty leagues. Nobody in their right mind is going to drop Baez or Yelich in a keeper league. So then since MLB teams won't DL list players in September, it really puts fantasy managers in a bind at the most critical time during the fantasy playoffs.

I came here to post the very same thing about DTD injuries. We need IL+ slots (like Yahoo fantasy hockey) for DTD players. It stinks to get down to the fantasy playoffs and lose a Javy Baez or Christian Yelich for the year. MLB teams don't bother with DL listings once the rosters expand in September, at the most critical time of the season during fantasy playoffs. I have lost Baez and Yelich for the season/playoffs, and I can't even replace them. C'mon Yahoo!!

When you need to activate someone off DL and drop someone it should be able to be done same day. Teams don't always make the announcement The day before so you can't always plan ahead. I've had 2 times this week where I've missed being able to activate a SP because of this.

I hear ya....but I disagree. DL (soon to be IL) slots should be reserved only for players on the actual IL. Can Yahoo get better at updating players more quickly from DTD to DL status ohhhh you betcha! But making DTD players eligible for a DL slot is a cop out in my opinion. It makes things too easy.

THis has to be the DUMBEST request I have ever seen, let their incompetent programming team focus us relevant changes, having them waste time reading this retardation has to be stopped.
Idiot. DL is the DL for a reason.
you say...
"Restricting the DL to just players that are on the DL list in real life is silly. "idiot.

I can generally deal with DTDs, but game time decisions are always frustrating.
If a DTD doesn't start, then pinch hits with a K, it's a killer.
I note the DTDs and the game time cut off so I can check them later.
The worse scenario is when you have multiple DTDs. In that case, we should have a call up player allowed.
