[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

The chat in its current format is too convoluted. We use the message board for all kinds of communication. Keeper rules, eligible keepers, rule changes/suggestions. I bet half our league doesn't even know the chat function exits.

The message board system has been hypercritical for sending group announcements, coordinating deadlines for offline transactions, and initiating trade discussions. Since your site lists everyone's email addresses for spammers and scammers to collect, no one uses a primary email address. Therefore, emails are not always read. Having both message board posts and emailed messages about the posts increased the chances of messages being seen.
Being able to read back 2-6 month old messages from the boards has also been needed at times. I am not sure if your chat system can be used in that fashion.

This is complete garbage. I have run a league for 15 years and the best part of it has always been the trash talk in the message boards. I am not sure why it is so completed to have a place for us in a league to talk to one another. Makes me question joining a Yahoo money league if you can't even figure out how to have a message board work.

The message board is the number one communication tool we use.

If you remove the message boards, I will not be back after this season. You PHUCKED UP! by removing the message boards.

I've been playing fantasy baseball for over 20 years on Yahoo. The message board is critical for our members to trash talk each other and bring up issues. All twelve members feel the same way. PLEASE bring back the message board! Thank you.

It is the most important thing on the site. It's going to end up with leagues going to other providers. Very disappointing. Its the way league do draft and get important info out there.

I understand progress requires change - but this is almost a "it's not broke, why fix it?!" I don't understand your rationale - I don't have to which is good because I don't. There are growing pains - my first inclination is Chat is more geared to mobile, which is how I spend most of my time on the site, but when I need something more involved, I go to a computer and it seems like that decision tree has been pruned way down.

Need it for league rules, preseason trades, general communication. Dumb idea to take it away as leagues can be renewed.

The message Boards are a very helpful tool for GMs in all Yahoo Fantasy leagues. Yes, we can use other methods to communicate, like set up Boards at Discord or other chat Apps, but why should we have to do that when you already had a working option here. And of course we can always play at ESPN or Fantrax or Fleaflicker, etc., but again why make us leave Yahoo, when we enjoy what you have always offered.

Personally, and I've been commissioning leagues for years, let alone playing for years, this is a ridiculous decision. We use the "Message Board" often, and I hope you bring them back. Thank you.

Absolutely crucial in keeper leagues. Crazy to remove them.

We need to be able to post keepers, ask for trade insights, communicate in general? WHAT GIVES?>

How is this only the "17th ranked" issue???
There have been >200 comments here in the past week since it was posted!!
By comparison, the "4th ranked" issue here is 18 months old, and it only has 26 comments.
Obviously, Message Board Removal is a huge problem for a majority of leagues. The League Chat isn't a viable alternative and it isn't what users want.
Yahoo's lack of response here is even more concerning than their initial bad decision. It really seems like Yahoo Fantasy doesn't care about their users at all.

This decision does not have a **** thing to do about whats good for fantasy baseball, this decision was made because they want to silence everyone. Just the mere fact that 12 people can communicate with each other is enough to drive them nuts.

It is my belief that you are removing features from your free leagues in order to coerce people to move to your premium $ leagues. This is a bad strategy as I will just find other free sites to play fantasy sports. The less people you have on your free site, the less they will play on your DFS site or your pay sites.

the message board in our league is vital for communication. This was a terrible decision to remove message boards. Very short-siighted. Leagues like mine have a lot of rules and guidelines that have been added over the years, in addition to the Yahoo rules format, that improve the experience overall, and now will have to be implimented off site from the league page. This bad decision to remove the message board will no doubt ruin a lot of things in Yahoo fantasy. Very bad move.
