[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

Are you kidding me? What an absolutely terrible move, Yahoo! Several managers are quitting because they don't want to be forced to use facebook, discord, etc. as an alternate means of communication. The Message Board is vital to the functioning of all my leagues! Come on!

I am quite disappointed about the removal of Message boards. I might be old, but I don't like the chat function. Our league used Message boards as a simple way to just do roll call, trade choices and the like. We may not have been particularly active, but we are an old league and could add flavour to the league as the season progressed. Besides, to read a message, you have to filter out transactions. You would have to scroll through a lot of "noise" to get to a members concerns. How is this good? Does your team even play fantasy baseball?
I also would like to see "polls" restored. I cannot fathom why that option was removed as well. It's a simple way to get the "pulse" of the league.
I hope you don't become a "points" only league. I would delete the league on the spot.

We need message boards. Several of the leagues I am in use the boards to do slow drafts. Also, not all do chats.

No message boards then I will not participate in Yahoo fan baseball. Let your advertisers know.

This is a really bad idea. The message boards are used regularly in my leagues to notify people of developments within the league (e.g. notifying managers of draft dates) and providing a means of managers to raise issues within the league as they arise. Please do not remove them.

You cant run offline drafts in chats just bring the boards back!

Message boards are preferred to chats. Chats contain too much information such as moves teams make while message board was just messages and is easily accessed on computer.

As commish of a league, I used the Message Board to communicate with the league as a whole, as opposed to individually through email. I would post weekly wrap-ups, and notify the other coaches of extended weeks, or shortened ones.
I would guess eliminating the Message Board was to eliminate some of the offensive trash talk some people say, but we never had a problem with that in my league.
I think you could at least make the Message Board an option that commissioners could implement through Settings, if they so desire. I'm disappointed in this sudden decision. -

Taking away a feature that people like and use regularly is just another reason to move on from using Yahoo for our Fantasy Baseball league. We started in 2004 so that's how long we've been playing with Yahoo. In addition to the message boards, what is the logic behind opening the leagues, but not providing mock drafts? We use message boards for camaraderie and keeping our teams linked even though we're all over the country throughout the long season. Not having that feature -- and the mock drafts -- is reason to switch to another provider.

A bad idea that was implemented very poorly.

WTF. Who was the big brain that decided the message board should be axed? Whoever the decision maker was on this should be axed instead. It's obvious they don't use or understand their own product.

Possibly the dumbest thing Yahoo has done with regards to their fantasy platform.

This decision has our league considering another fantasy sports platform, even though we've been on Yahoo! for many years and many leagues. We use message board a lot for league camaraderie. I don't understand why you would remove it.

It feels like Yahoo has been trying to drive us towards their DFS and money league products the past several years...and ignoring their longtime leagues. Our league has used Yahoo for 20+ years. The message boards were vital for league communication, rule changes/suggestions, keeper information, etc. The answer is pretty simple for my league mates and me, we just won't be using their DFS or money league products until they put some effort back into their original products.

Is this their way of trying to squash the adverse reaction to the "changes"?

What kind of **** is this? A 12 team league and my first pick was #21. Yahoo isn't!

Bring back the message boards. Chats would be ok...if it is setup just like the message boards, in the same place as the message boards, and are basically just like the message boards.

To say I'm disappointed in Yahoo!'s decision to remove message boards is an understatement. The message boards are vital to running our league, a league I have managed on Yahoo! since 2001(and was playing other leagues prior to 2001).
Not only do I feel like this is a bad decision, it is inexcusable to take this tool away during the most critical time of our season without being prepared to launch the "new and improved" method once the leagues opened for business.
We have our annual "winter meeting" scheduled for Sunday night, and one of the topics on the agenda is to move the league to Fantrax. Fantrax already has more tools and customization options than Yahoo!, but Yahoo! works for us and this is where we would prefer to keep our league. Without this vital tool, we might have to consider moving for good.

I may have to rethink about where I play my Fantasy sports every year now. If I stop playing Yahoo Fantasy Sports then I might as well delete my email account and be done with Yahoo. Only reason I still use Yahoo mail is because my use of their Fantasy sports. Yahoo crossed my red line with this move! Stay tuned.
