[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

I cannot believe Yahoo did away with the message board. This is very important in all leagues but is especially CRITICAL in Dynasty leagues. Many leagues do message board drafts but especially Dynasty Leagues. Doing away with the message board will make it so much harder to do these drafts. Please bring back the message boards.

When I ask Yahoo a question about "message board" this is the information they give out.
"Manage posts in Yahoo Fantasy message boards
The league's message board is the place to engage in some spirited conversation, post useful info, or propose an open-ended trade. You can rev up your communication and strengthen connections by creating and responding to posts. Simply delete a post if you want to take back a comment you regret, but only on desktop."
Maybe the "help" area is a good place to flood their system with the question "why did you remove our message board when it was stated as useful?. They don't seem to pay attention to this.

All non-standard keeper leagues or dynasty leagues are now screwed. Or need to deploy a clunky 3rd party solution that doesn't integrate with the site. Are you trying too push us to your competitors?

The message boards are critical to effective communication in 90% of the leagues I participate in.

Message board communication is a major part of my keeper leagues across all sports. We use this as our main method of trading pre-draft (as I'm sure all dynasty/keeper leagues would do), as well as conducting league polls and passing on other critical key information. I will consider moving my leagues off Yahoo if this feature is not returned.

Not sure why this decision was made to remove the message boards but it obviously was a bad decision based on the pages of comments. PLEASE add the message board back as it is simply a huge concept of the communication preference in both public and private leagues. Not sure how we are going to do our offline draft now. Thanks Yahoo

Removing the message board really hampers my private league as we did our offline draft via the Message Board. The new Fantasy Chat does not provide the same features. For example, the Fantasy Chat on the mobile App allows for the Return key to enter in a Return. Whereas, the Fantasy Chat on the website, enters the message into the Chat when pressing the Return. There is no way to enter a Return on the website version of Fantasy Chat. Why is this? Can't the same little arrow icon be installed on the website version similar to the mobile App version?

I extremely dislike that you removed this feature. I don't even understand why you would do this.

Our Leagues just voted today overwhelmingly to move to Fantrax because of this issue.
The absolute ARROGANCE of Yahoo to first blindside us with this stupid move then not to even discuss this rationally or listen to those of us who actually KNOW how these things work and what the impact will be says it all.
It is obvious Yahoo decision makers haven't ever played in real (private keeper or dynasty) Yahoo leagues and are totally ignorant of how all this works and apparently don't care to learn. Well it is exodus time from Yahoo. I'll see a lot of you guys posting here over on Fantrax soon.

Taking away the message boards was a very, very, very bad move. I don't know what you were thinking. Leagues use these functions to allow the members to, you know, communicate with each other! My league needs the message boards to coordinate its keeper process. They are actually critical to running the league - if they are not returned, I imagine we will be forced to delete the league. Bye-bye Yahoo ad revenue! BTW, I don't buy the whole "not possible to return message boards this season" line. No way. You've got programmers, you can stick the message boards back in. You just made a dumb decision and are doubling down instead of admitting your mistake. You have two months. The code clearly already exists. You can stick it back in in no time. Get cracking!

Please add my vote to BRING BACK MESSAGE BOARDS!!! I have been running a 20 team keeper league on yahoo and the message board was the sole place that everyone could go to communicate with each other efficantly. Board titles like Place Keepers Here, Post Trade Bait Here, How to set up your team/ Read This, are imparitve to communicate with 20 teams at once and allow them a space to communicate with each other. . Chat does not replace this. Please consider adding message boards back until you have updated the chat function to be league specific, have threads, and be cusomizable.

Commissioners and fellow owners: Please email you leagues and ask them to at the very least to come to this page and select the button for How Important It Is To You. If the want to go further, please ask them to comment to Yahoo that we the message board tool to function. Yahoo's Chat option is not an acceptable alternative. Thank you.

Can you please put back the message board...It is very important to be able to communicate in my dynasty league, aswell as others...Why did you remove it?

Must switch platforms if you do not put them back. How are we supposed to communicate with the league? Odd choice. Please fix.

Also, just to be clear, our preference is to keep the message boards. I really don't understand the rationale behind this decision. Fantasy sports started as a social game. It's the one way that we're able to communicate in a group fashion. I can think of about 10 different features to cut before this one.

This is really important to our league. If message boards aren't going to be a thing going forward, we'll live with it, but we need access to prior years. If that isn't going to be possible at some point, please give us the ability to download and archive prior year data.

I just renewed a league that’s been in existence for over 20 years…20 years of discussion, problem-solving and interaction between friends…20 years of history…20 years of life. Yahoo has taken it all away. What’s wrong with you people?

This decision is insane! We are in a 20 year dynasty fantasy league and rely on league communication through the message boards. Including messages from past seasons that include traded future rights and draft picks. We will be forced to look into a different host for our league if this isn't reversed in the next few weeks.
