[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

Message boards are very critical in most of my Yahoo fantasy baseball leagues. For one, a few of them do onlne drafts and our picks are posted on the message board as well as who is up and who is on deck. It's also necessary to post a concern that doesn't warrant an email but just a quick message.

There is no Message Board page for fantasy baseball. How come? We need this feature for our league, and will consider another platform that has this instead of staying with Yahoo.

What do we want? Message Boards! When do we want it? NOW! I've played in over 100 leagues over 20 years and have lost leagues, friends, managers making the switch to fantrax. I've held out and have been a voice in favor of staying with Yahoo, but if we don't have the ability to have league discussions via a message board, its over! F you Yahoo. Who's Leagues? Our Leagues!

Wow !!! I am in shock that Yahoo has removed the league message boards. This has got to be a mistake on their part. The message boards are a vital part of running leagues smoothly. Yes we have the e-mail league league option but putting messages on the league board are so easily viewed and don't get lost with all your other e-mails.
Come on Yahoo !!!! Please add the message boards back. I feel you are going to lose a lot of fantasy players to other sites with removing them. -

I'm not sure why this was removed. I have been playing fantasy sports on yahoo since 2004 and I have probably been in about 100 fantasy leagues over the years. I can't think of a single one that didn't use the message boards throughout the season. This seems like a very silly thing to get rid of without an adequate replacement.

I am an avid player of fantasy sports [baseball, football, hockey and basketball] under 4 different yahoo accounts. I was stunned to see no message boards this season for baseball. This is how we communicate across the states and countries. I have one league that has already jumped over to Fantrax and another threatening to do so, We not only communicate through the message boards, but we run offline drafts that way too. Yahoo has always been a leader in fantasy sports, could you PLEASE rectify the situation and add back the message boards. It is vital to all the leagues out there.Thank you.

While I play in a "private" league, the message board is an essential tool for league communication. I would think they are even more important in public leagues. Will most likely have to find another site if they are not reinstated soon.

Message boards are an essential part of communication with the league. WE NEED the boards back. What moron decided this was a good thing to do away with??? Yahoo has enough issues with its fantasy platform that need addressing already without creating new issues for folks to have to complain about. This is an easy fix, put the boards back up. At this point, I'm about to see if my managers will just all go to Fantrax or something similar, and do away with fantasy at yahoo. This is getting ridiculous on your part. PLEASE FIX THIS, you're going to lose so many folks at this point.

Fantasy Baseball leagues cannot survive without a message board so that we can communicate with each other easily. Please reinstate immediately.

How are we supposed to communicate with league members, many of which I have no other contact with outside the our leagues?
If the message boards are not reactivated the dozen leagues I am currently in will have no choice but to go to another site provided.
Fix this incredibly stupid decision.

Fellow commissioners: Please send an email blast to your owners with a link to this page and ask them to post how they feel about the removal of the message boards. This will also be for all Yahoo fantasy sports leagues, I'd imagine.

Bill, Yahoo is currently not currently planning on reinstate message boards.
Yahoo, please reinstate message boards. Message boards are critical to our keeper leagues, slow drafts, prior year rules and rulings, etc which have been on Yahoo for 20+ years. I look forward to you realizing your error and reinstating them. Thank you very much.

I see where historical Message Boards for 2015 thru 2022 have been restored. This is great news for dynasty/keeper leagues who had lost their rules/transactions from that time. There is still no Message Board for 2023. Is there any word on whether Yahoo is willing to reinstate for 2023?
-
Mark Baniszewski commented
The message board is an essential element to the Yahoo Fantasy Sports website. Our baseball and football leagues are exploring other providers in case the message board is not reinstated.

By taking away message boards you are forcing keeper and dynasty leagues to look to other platforms to maintain a quality league. This needs to be reactivated or reinstated or you will have a mass exodus of your most qualified and constant site goers.

Is participating in and running 25 private keeper leagues enough to get your attention? In just 2 of these leagues, we combined for nearly 800 message TOPICS last year alone. That's TOPICS, not individual messages, mind you. Without repeating all the prior mentioned complaints, I wonder how all your SPONSORED ADVERTISERS feel about 10's of thousands of leagues leaving? All those lost hits, , lost pop up spam, lost mandatory clicks to close windows...all that is LOST MONEY, right?
Well, I've been running keeper leagues through yahoo for 23 years, multiple 20 team leagues which conduct daily message board drafts from February through April. We vote on league settings, discuss trades, organize members, communicate league openings, realize errors and rectify them quickly - all through the message boards.
The LAST thing I need is to have to run everything through the screwed up yahoo league email system where you can't even reply properly. Do I really need another 3,000 emails to my personal account during the baseball season? No I do not.
Yahoo, you have 10 days to bring back the message boards or some other site's sponsors will benefit from all our daily clicks.
