[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

This is so incredibly stupid. Why would you get rid of this feature. I don't know a single person who uses league chat. My league has been debating switching from using Yahoo as a host for the league. The product has been gradually declining for years. This is the final nail in the coffin. Complete boneheads.

BRING BACK THE MESSAGE BOARD

Please bring back message boards. The chat is a fun day-to-day way to communicate and the boards make it easier to post things that will definitely be seen/revisited by league. Please bring it back!!!

This is a terrible idea. Terrible! The message board is a critical way to get the word out to all the teams on league matters. AND....not five minutes ago a new league member asked me "Where does the trash talk happen?" And I had to say..."I don't know! Because Yahoo eliminated the message boards!"
Bad idea. Just restore the message board. It's the only place to trash talk! And trash talk = engagement.

Shouldn't Darick Hall for the Phillies also be designated as a 1B now too?

Removing chat decreases the value of your product. It begins the mass migration to other products in competition to Yahoo.

The message board was a much easier to use solution for communicating with the league compared to any of the current options. Yahoo, please bring it back!

Last day to copy and paste your leagues over to FANTRAX before Opening Day. Don;t suffer all year on Yahoo. It is a sinking ship.
FANTRAX rocks. So very glad all our leagues moved there. Great message board, totally free and excellent customer service that responds ultra quickly to any problem and respects you in the process. Tons of other features too.
Thing is FANTRAX is a fantasy sports platform only. They are always looking to improve their platform. Not tear it to pieces like Yahoo is doing. I doubt Yahoo platform will even exist by this time next year after all the football and basketball leagues leave too.

What was your reasoning for killing chat/message boards? Save a few bucks? Horrible decision. What if you're in public league where only 4 of 12 owners provide an email address? How can you contact the other 8? That though ever cross your muddled minds? Next year, ESPN.

the chat sucks - the message boards are able to be kept to highlight key messages - the chat message can be missed and is more for banter, if its even used.

Where can the league owners interact in discussion for the entire league using computer? I don't see this option anywhere

Removing the message boards was the second worst decision you guys have made. What's the worst decision? Receiving an avalanche of feedback that universally criticizes the decision and you refuse to put the message boards back.
Awful.

We used message boards every week for wrap ups and threads for specific topics/questions. Doing away with them is not a good idea. It will erode the home team feeling of fantasy leagues and make it seem more like a generic fantasy hosting site. Bring the message boards back!
While we are on the subject, the message boards were not user friendly in terms of adding gifs or pics and the text effects would sometimes not work when posting. They were very clunky. Bringing them back with an updated interface would be great! -

I haven't read one comment commending your decision to do away with the message board. Add me to the consensus. I'd say it is your worst decision since taking over Yahoo baseball but then I wouldn't be doing justice to the waiver system you invented - you know, the one that requires you to show up 3 or more times to drop and add a player. More if you can't get there before the dropee plays that day. You should drop your administration; that's what you should do.

Ridiculous decision to remove message boards. Our fantasy league is a family league - brothers, sons, etc - and the message boards were key to our enjoyment of the league. We've been doing this on Yahoo! for 25 years. We used the message boards for info exchange, questions, and most of all friendly banter. The features of the message board - persistent, asynchronous, topically-threaded group messaging - were ideal for what we used it for. Baffling to me/us why you would turn off something useful that can't have been much overhead to maintain.
We'll simply migrate our messaging to Google Groups or perhaps groups.io. Next season, maybe we'll find a new host site for our league as well. Congrats on chasing away loyal users.

I utilize Message Board a lot for the leagues I run. I use separate messages on the board to put the draft order, keepers, tracking weekly prizes, league rules etc. I don't want to use a chat where I have to scroll through to find all this information. I don't care if i can "pin" a comment. Do not get rid of the message boards. I will be moving the leagues I commish to other sites if the message board is removed.
