Currently, Marcus Smart is only listed as a PG on Yahoo! This does not accurately reflect his positional eligibility as he frequently shares the floor with Isaiah Thomas, who is the team's PG. Smart primarily enters the game as a substitute replacing either the SG or SF. Earlier in the season, when Jae Crowder was out with an injury, Smart started in his place at SF. Smart plays a role for the Celtics similar to that of Tyreke Evans with the Pelicans. His position is essentially interchangeable between PG-SG-SF. At the least he should gain SF eligibility as he frequently shares the floor with Thomas, Avery Bradley (SG) when healthy, and Jaylen Brown (SG-SF) when Bradley has been out with injury as he has been lately.
