Yahoo. this should be updated. Been an issue for years. Please change and make customizable. Its 2019, why do we have to deal with this restriction.

Please add this option in Commissioner league settings. It would fix many problems that arise from trades.
Not sure why it isn't added yet for custom/private leagues.
Keep the 1/3 veto for public leagues. Allow customization for custom leagues. -

I think this rule is fine because it is the unfair trades that might lower the quality of the league. Friends protect friends, some don't take attention at all, and some are rookies of a competitive league. If trade happens, majority of the players must agree of the deal.

Sigh, it is also a problem in our league. Almost every trade were vetoed.

why is yahoo still gathering Intel on this? Its been over two years already. 2018 season is a month away and the good folks in charge at yahoo barely made any new changes for this upcoming season..

this has been a problem for years. Yahoo still refuses to give that option for some odd reason. No wonder ESPN is gaining in popularity for fantasy basketball.

Yes I'm in a league where three well-designed trades were vetoed hours after the draft ended, including a 3rd round PG & 6th round C swapped for a 3rd round PG/SG & 6th round PF/C, and the league vetoed it within minutes. Veto should be about fairness, not tactics. Give us the option to put the threshold up to 1/2 or 2/3, or vote on giving decision over to Yahoo. Six months of zero trades is just lame.

I agree with this. Most leagues want higher or lower Veto votes than the standard 4 in Yahoo league. Since Yahoo still doesn't have this option in League Management Tools, what we do in our league is we set it to Commish review, then we create a poll on the League Message Board and we do the voting there. If Yahoo will allow this, it will save us Commissioners from creating threads for every trade in our leagues. This will be a welcome update for sure!

Agree. Pls add option for commissioner to set veto majority to 50% or even 2/3 of teams. In either case, the clear majority decision is more convincing than a small minority (sometimes of a cozy set of buddies) who may veto everyone else's trades not to their liking.

Change the league setting for trade reviews from league votes to commish. Then the commish is the soul decision maker on if the trade should be vetoed or not. I would suggest the majority of private leagues use the commish setting.

Yup my league has the same problem. It's a 14-team league and even though it's only week 9 there has been 5 trades that have been vetoed already. The managers in our league are at least upfront enough to admit that they use the veto has a defense rather than to promote fair play. Having an option to raise the votes to 50% or 2/3 of the league to veto would help greatly in dissolving some of the abuse of the loophole that there aren't many votes needed in order to veto a trade.

I’m sure other managers have run into this issue also, but I’m in the ninth year in a league I'm in with a bunch of college buddies and it's been highly competitive. So competitive that our league has now decided to use the "veto" option as a tool to not allow "good" teams to get better.
It's only the ninth week of the season and my league has already vetoed FIVE trades. Discussions on the message board about said vetoed trades have shown that the vetoing has not been because trades are thought to be unfair, but rather fear that a good team has gotten better.
So I would like to suggest that there be some sub options to the trade review option Yahoo offers (at least for next season). I read that the default is that a third of the league has to vote against a trade for it to be vetoed. Can Yahoo PLEASE, PLEASE, add the options of 50% and two-thirds of the league to vote to veto trades?
I'm sure in long-term, competitive leagues that other managers are dealing with this loophole of vetoing trades for competitive advantage rather than promoting fairness. By having an option to raise the number of votes it takes to veto trades it'll make it much harder for mangers to manipulate the system.

Just change it from league votes "the button", to commissioner, and then you can set up your own voting system if you please.

I would recommend that the voting should be by Majority: “At least 50% of the votes plus one or a number greater than half of the total votes cast.”
