Two Game Week
Every week you have a chance to get two wins:
- Against your H2H opponents
- Your points rank within the league (i.e., 12-team league, top 6 scoring teams get a win, bottom 6 receive a loss)
This will help mitigate some of the luck inherent in a H2H league, while still allowing the fun and excitement of H2H.
Hi Yahoo -- any update on this? It's been in the "Gathering Feedback" stage for ~three-plus years.
Tim Flynn commented
This adds more match ups to enjoy and helps smooth out the out-of-the-blue high scores or low scores that can affect records.
I'd prefer to see Yahoo use "All In Play" for league standings.
Have each team play every other team every week.
It would solve the problem that you want to solve.
And,it would be more fair.
This still shows as "Gathering Feedback" -- is there any movement here?
Apex Fantasy Leagues does this and more serious players will start moving there if Y! doesn't take some of these bigger feedback items seriously!
Why can't this two-game week idea be implemented as an OPTION for commissioners to add?
This was posted before the 2016-2017 season -- we're now in the 2018-2019 season. It really been 3 seasons of gathering feedback!?
Come on! Let's get this enabled for next year's 2019-2020 season!
Why is this still gathering feedback? Shouldn't be particularly difficult to enable the *option* right? Go check Apex Leagues and maybe you can figure out how they enabled it.
Remember, it's an *option* for gamers. You're creating more value for users and attracting more serious users as well; doesn't change any kind of default settings...
I agree with the problem, but better solutions are available.
Your league can use "total points" ranking to determine the team which really was the best during the season.
Or, Yahoo can adopt cross-country scoring.

Please add this feature. It's been 3+ years this has been requested. The programming can't be this difficult to implement
Please allow this. Why is it still in gathering feedback stage.

GREAT IDEA!!! please do. Was in this type of league last year and it was great. Site was horrible!!. My League LOVES yahoo. WIN/ WIN for everyone.

I am strongly hoping yahoo adds this as an option for leagues. Everyone in the two leagues I am in wants to change the league to this type of standings/records, it keeps the weekly head to head match-ups relevant, while also giving teams that put up a lot of points but are having bad luck a better chance to compete. PLEASE add this in for next year so we do not need to look at other options and change the site we have been using for YEARS.

If Yahoo would allow playoffs to be more customizable the need for this decreases, but if thus were available it should be customizeable to rewards teams varying amounts of points for either the number of points scored each week or the rank of a team’s points vs the other team’s points. In our 10’team league this year, 5 times has the team with the second most points lost to the team with the most points and four times has the team with the 2nd fewest points won...the best owners aren’t being rewarded, only luck. An example would be to allow “x” points for a victory and some fractional point based on score ranking each week... both values assignable by the commissioner.

I would LOVE if Yahoo set this up in their Commissioner Tools interface. I use this standings format for both of my leagues, and it is a headache to manage the everyone's records, points, and rankings manually in a separate spreadsheet. Thank you for suggesting this here!

After you've played in a private league for more than a few years you'll understand.
Both of the options you suggested are used heavily in public games, no real league uses either of them. Head-to-head is the preferred type of game of the two offered by Yahoo and most other sites. Allowing multiple games per week enables larger leagues (my 20 team league, for instance) to have a more realistic (closer to NFL 17 game) season, and thus a more accurate playoff bracket.
Your comments about what is "fair" are probably accurate, but what's "fair" isn't always FUN. Lets make things fun.
Why bother with such a complicated system when better systems of scoring are available?
Yahoo can more easily add "All-Play" rankings under which each team plays every other team each week. That is Fair.
Your league can already use "Total Points" scoring under which the team which scores the most total points during the season wins the league. That is Fair.
Both of these systems are better than what is being suggested here.

I Love this Idea, ive been trying to figure out how to get this going
This is a great idea and I agree with Garrett, please merge these topics.
garrett wake commented
Can Yahoo please merge these topics, they would be ranked in the top 15 probably if they were merged.

I would like to be able to give a team a win for winning head to head but also give a team a win for being in the top half of scorers that week. This way even if you lose head to head you can still get a win. I've had too many leagues where a top 3 scoring team doesn't make the playoffs because his points against are way higher than everyone elses
Is this going to be here next year, Yahoo?
If not, we're moving to a different platform.
We've been asking for the ability to do two-game weeks and "all-play" for three years now...
More serious players want it, but if you'd prefer to stay on more "amateur" end of market, then don't take action
