****, still won't fit.
If Yahoo! expands the team names, they have to re-evaluate and modify every screen the team name is displayed on.

This needs to be addressed ASAP. I know several leagues that will not be using Yahoo just because of this issue.

The character limit currently in place for team names is obstructive and frustrating. Fantasy football and funny, creative names go hand in hand, and the current limit on name size stifles that in a big way. Please remove or increase the character limit on team names to allow us more room for creativity.

Seriously yahoo.....why in the **** are we limited to 20. I have 2 leagues ready to go to nfl.com or ESPN just so they can use the team names they've come up with. Its ridiculous how many years this has been an issue and there's no need for it. Either stop telling us how you make your site better every year or make the small basic changes people have been asking for for years. It is beyond ridiculous that this is even an issue I need to waste my time commenting on

I am going to list some of my team names that won't fit, so yahoo can truly know what they are taking away from me.
Scherff, Wind, and Fire.
Houshmandzadie and the Blowfish.
Tom Brady and the Heartbreakers.
Flutie and the Blowfish.
Red Hot Green Bay Packers.
Rage Against the Vereen.
Mason Crosby, Stills, and Nash.
The Band Perry Fewell.
System of a Down-Set-Hut.
Marky Mark Sanchez and the Funky Bunch. At least I have Fleetwood MacNabb...

I can't see it being that complicated to put into place; there is plenty of room if Yahoo chooses to adjust it. But as this has been requested for years, it's obviously low priority so I don't expect anything any time soon.

Limiting team name length has to do with display functionality on all the screens in fantasy sports. real estate would have to be found on basically every screen for those extra 10 characters, causing each screen to have to be redesigned.
It may happen some day, but probably not any time soon.

Why can't my SA Gunslingers be the San Antonio Gunslingers? That's not a whopping amount of letters to ask for.

Why the **** hasn't Yahoo complied with this very simple fix?
Answer: Yahoo couldn't give a sh!t what its users want. We are all suckers for using this flea bitten terrible site for fantasy sports. There are better ones out there.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE INCREASE IT!!!! 40 would be great. I think this would make me significantly happier all year round.

the 20 letter limit is archaic. What is this? 1998? You need to at least DOUBLE that to 40. "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" would just get in at 37. So 40 sounds about right to me.

I would normally consider a request like this to be impossible except for I might be winning again with Jay Cutler for a second year, so I pretty much believe nothing is impossible.

20 characters is too short for proper team name. Please increase to 30 or 40 characters limit.

There's so many awesome team names I thought of during the season that wouldn't fit.

League Names as well! My league name of "The League of Extra Ordinary Gentlemen" had to be chopped down to just "Gents" and cut out The. Makes me less happy.

Team names are a big deal. Big part of the fun. 30 characters seems very reasonable

Make it at least 50.
