Roster minimums by position
PLEASE VOTE FOR THIS!!!!!!!!
In very deep leagues (16 teams like mine), quality players are hard to come by on waivers. Would like a rule requiring a configurable minimum of each position on the roster at once. This will prevent people from picking up a couple extra players and waiting until saturday to drop them for a Kicker, Defense, etc; the players dropped are now on waivers and unable to be picked up by anyone else.

My league is a 12 team league with 2 QBs. On weeks when there are byes, some teams are not able to get their hands on a QB becuase other teams are holding 4 of them. ESPN allowed me to put a cap on the number of roster spots available for QBs at 3. There is no such ability for a commissioner on Yahoo's site. This alone will force me to change back to Yahoo as I have had to manually enforce this rule with a huge amount of pushback. I need Yahoo to enable this setting.

If I join a league and then the Commish imposes this limit rule,
will I be allowed to drop the league?
In the past, when the Commish changes rules,
Yahoo has not allowed us to drop out of the league. -

I would hate to join a league and then have the Commish put in a rule which limits how many players I can have in each position.
It's not necessary. It's not needed. It's not helpful. -

I don’t think this should be across the board for every league but at the very least an OPTION is custom leagues.

Please please please implement this. We have too much abuse of this our league that I’m looking for a league that will support this. Don’t want to leave yahoo but may have to.

This "problem" is not really the problem.
The true "problem" involves how a league's commissioner sets up the scoring system.
If you set up your league with RBs and QBs scoring lots more points than the other positions, then of course you'll have managers drafting extra RBs and QBs.
If you set up your league so that DEFs and Ks and return specialists also have good value,
then managers will choose extra DEFs and Ks and return specialists.
The issue here involves supply and demand.
WRs have an over-supply, so you don't benefit from picking extra WRs unless return specialists are rewarded in your league specs.
DEFs and Ks are actually in shorter supply than RBs and QBs. It is amazing how much differently a manager will draft when DEFs and Ks and return specialists are valuable positions on a roster.
So, just reduce the value of RBs & QBs and watch this "problem" disappear. -

Regardless of whether it would be after the draft or before the draft,
I'd hate to have this rule imposed on a league that I play in. -

This idea would be detrimental to Fantasy Football.

Sounds like a stupid rule to me

I oppose this idea.
I want to keep a couple of good players on my bench at all times.
They are useful for injuries and byeweeks.
Limiting my bench will limit my ability to manage my team well. -

this can not be done without me babysitting 15 other grown men, too much to manage, looking for something automated, this concept is common in many spreadsheet leagues

You can create this rule today and enforce it using your commish tools, edit rosters, by removing "excess" players from the current rosters.
