Playoffs - Customizable consolation bracket.
This feature will allow commissioners to do the following;
- Turn the consolation bracket on or off
- Change the number of teams the league has in the consolation bracket
- Customize the seeding and teams in the consolation bracket.
Currently, the consolation bracket is only available for 4 and 6 team playoff format, it is not able to be turned on and off, and does not allow for the commissioner to change the number of teams in the consolation bracket or customize the teams/seeding.

Add functionality for a Toilet Bowl in lieu of a consolation bracket for teams that do not make the playoffs. In a Toilet Bowl format, the 6 worst teams will face off in what appears to be a traditional tournament bracket, but the 1st round bye goes to the 11th and 12th seeds, and teams advance in the bracket when they lose, thus crowning the ultimate loser. Nobody cares about winning a traditional consolation bracket, but everyone cares to not be the proven worst team in the league.

how can i turn this pointless consolation bracket off. I didnt know it was on and it only interferes with the real playoffs. make it default option as OFF for now on. thanks

This is critical - honestly this should be base functionality. I can’t understand why this was not part of the base. I paid $25 for a 7 person playoff only to lose my consolation bracket? Bad form and if not fixed I will definitely leave yahoo

Please add the option to turn on off the consolation bracket. For our 12-team redraft with 1st, 2nd, 3rd place prizes, consistently eliminated teams have zero interest in continuing to set lineups and compete. I lock all those teams anyway, per league rules, so they can't add or drop players. It would just make my life easier if this were an option I could set for the league

A consolation bracket is absolutely critical! Our league plays every week to determine draft positioning and keeper eligibility, so we need a consolation bracket to keep losing owners engaged through the end of the season. I didn't even realize until now that we can't even edit the schedule at this point to manually set a consolation bracket. This by itself is a reason to move our league to another service. And as much of a pain as it might be, I'll probably be transferring our league off of Yahoo THIS WEEK just so we can play our consolation bracket! Seriously, Yahoo, how hard would it be to simply allow league commissioners to manually edit the schedule during the playoffs?!?

For the consolidation bracket, allow/open the toilet bowl option.
The loser of a match comes to the next round (instead of the winner). If you lose your last match - 3 in a row (the final one, while on the playoff bracket he winner is chosen) - you are definatly the last guy....and get all the shame of the league.
For 6 teams: spot 11 and 12 get a bye-week for the toilet bowl. They only need to get 2 losses for the toilet bowl.
Everything should be the same like i the PlayOffs, but only vice versa.

Ditto to Ryan Q's comment below. We've been manually working around this for years. "Great Idea. I'd love to be able to turn off the consolation bracket and limit transactions to ONLY the teams in the playoff that means something."

I am in a league with 8 teams. Only 6 of the teams make the playoffs. The remaining two teams (7th and 8th place) need a head to head matchup so that we can determine the official league loser (for obvious losers punishment reasons). It's unclear which week this "last place" matchup will take place, if at all. In years past, there has not been an official last place head-to-head matchup. However this year, I see that the 7th and 8th place teams have "bye" weeks this week (week 23 - and are listed in the "consolation quarterfinal"). Under the playoffs tab week 24 is the "Consolation Semifinal" and then there is a "Consolation Final: aka: 7th place matchup" in week 25. I just want to clarify if and when this last place matchup will happen... will a consolation bracket final matchup be played in week 24 or 25? ... asking for a friend.

Massively important, seems crazy that this wasn't added when the new 7 team playoff brackets came out this year.

We need this feature available to commissioners ASAP! There is no reason why we cant have a consolation bracket with 8 playoff teams and 4 in consolation bracket. I want to have the last 4 teams still participate even though they were eliminated from playoffs. For example have the last 4 teams duke it out for first pick in next years draft instead of giving it to the worst team and preventing team owners from giving up and not starting players just because they are out of playoffs.

Its 2023. Yahoo created Playoffs - Customizable consolation bracket feedback post in 2021. 2 years later and yahoo still doesn't have Customizable consolation bracket. What is the purpose of feedback when yahoo will not act on feedback? Seriously. This shouldn't be hard to get done. Yahoo all ready has lock eliminated teams which is a worthless option. Yahoo forces commissioners to message them asking yahoo to lock teams that's been eliminated from playoffs. WTF. I don't know why yahoo refuses to have Customizable consolation bracket.

I'm running a 12 team league. Currently Yahoo only allows two brackets to be created for our final two week playoffs. 1) top 4 teams play in Championship bracket 2) team 5 thru 8 play in Consolation bracket. Teams 9 thru 12 miss out on the final two weeks of the Fantasy season because there is no way for me to setup a "Toilet" bowl bracket. Would be real nice if Yahoo would create more flexibility in setting up brackets

Sorry Yahoo (and NFL dot com) but ESPN wins this round. It allowed 16 of us to play all season. No one lost interest in November because they were in the bottom 8 because, even if in last place after our regular season, the expanded consolation bracket allowed them to possibly move up from 16th seed to a 9th place final finish. In Yahoo, I've found that managers who fail to make the playoffs disappear on me in spite of my guarantee of non-snaking reverse order of standings draft picks.

For keeper leagues this would be very useful for determining draft picks in the following season. This would keep the bottom teams stay active and try to win.

Many leagues use the playoffs to decide draft order for the following season. It would be great to be able to still watch our teams and match ups as we fight for the 1st overall draft pick the next year.

This feedback goes back to Oct 20, 2021. If they haven't changed it by now, they won't change it. Yahoo needs to lose subscribers to ESPN and NFL.com first. Yahoo lost me.
