Schedule/Scoring Formats - 'Doubleheaders vs league score median'.
Each week, the median fantasy points of all teams in the league is calculated by taking the middle number in a sorted list of scores of each team. Each team would get a win if they beat the league median and a loss if they lose to it.

Odd number of teams in H2H is not allowed. The league must have an even number of teams.

top half gets a win... bottom half gets a loss. Its simple and would be a great third option.
call it 50/50 -

I agree this a great idea! another simple way to do this. Top half get a win, bottom half a loss. if odd # of managers, middle team gets a tie.

Currently there are head to head and total scoring options.
Problem with head to head - best teams dont always advance to playoffs by dumb luck of who they played.
Problem with total scoring. One huge week or one terrible week weigh to heavily on season scoring.
With 50/50. Each week top half of league gets a win, bottom half a loss. If there are and odd # of managers, middle team gets a tie.
That way best half of league gets a win each week but playoff are still first decided by overall record. Brilliant isnt it? -

All-play is the best and most fair scheduling format for fantasy football. Please make it happen.

I like this idea, was going to suggest it myself. I'll admit to having a 12-team league where I finished 3rd overall last season, but was 10th in regular season total points. This would reward the good teams and hurt those who luck into regular H2H wins.

Allow to schedule double or even triple headers each week so the better teams win more. This way if you score the 2nd most points and play the hlighest scoring team you will go 1-1 or 2-1 instead of 0-1. Less luck involved.

How could this possible be a huge undertaking? You already have the records in your silly little weekly write ups (which by the way are worthless). Every single other reputable fantasy league has this as an option. Stop adding dumb ******** like weekly write-ups and focus on making the game better. I will come back to Yahoo when you decide to focus on the actual game play. Unbelievable.

In response to Yahoo's review comment: I'll be moving where I play fantasy football, then, since there are absolutely other sites that support more complex schedule options.

Thanks for the response,
I would not expect you to be able to make ALL of those changes in just one year, But a few that would be really nice:
1. Doing the "per yard" point scoring for kickers and "per yard" and "per point" for team D's
2. Allowing to differentiate PPR between TE, WR, and RB's...
3. Doing 20+, 30+, & 40+ yard point scoring plays instead of only 40+ yard passes, rushes, and receptions.
4. Offering bonus points for a team win for both QB's and team D's...

Not even just an "All Play" format. How about another format that is a hybrid of H2H and All Play? Owners face 1 opponent for a week, but also face the rest of the league by giving the top half of the league (in terms of points scored for the week) a win? i.e.- I can go 2-0 for the week by beating my h2h opponent as well as having a top 6 score for the week (in a 12 man league).

Seems like such a simple request. Could see a lot of leagues adopting this format.

I think this scoring format should really be an option. In a 12 team league, each team would get a win for winning their head-to-head match-up. Also, the teams with the six highest scores would receive a win, while the teams with the six lowest scores would receive a loss. So...at the end of a single week a team could go 2-0, 1-1, or 0-2. I think this would cut down on some of the luck involved, compared to a strictly head-to-head league.

If you have 10 teams in your league then you should be able to award the top 5 each week for scoring.
Make 2 points for a win over your opponent and 1 point for taking in the top half of the league. If you just happen to face high score that week and you have the 3rd highest score you will still get a point for taking in the top half.
Each week a team can get 3 points this week help take out the luck of facing the top scores each week.

Love this. I played in a money league with this option a few years ago (non yahoo obviously) and it was so much fun.

Totally agree! Allow the league to determine how may matchups each team has per week, from 1 to playing everyone. Also allow the option for the top half scoring teams get a win, bottom gets losses. As many others have stated, there is nothing more frustrating than being the 2nd highest scoring team, only to be matched up against the highest. I was the top scoring team in my 12 team league, but finished 6th and missed the playoffs. At least adding these multiple matchup options would better control allowing the more deserving teams into the playoffs.

I run a league that has been doing this since 1992. I would like to fully run the league on Yahoo. It is the fairest of all competition formats and crowns a true champion.

This would allow every team in a 10-team league to play every other team twice. This would help to decrease the scheduling bias of some teams getting to play weaker teams twice and other having a more difficult schedule.

Same for me - it is the only reason that use CBS. Should be an easy update for Yahoo!. Please update so we can get out of the CBS strangle hold.

Why not just eliminate H2H and go with "most points" scored season to date? That is essentially what you want. Teams that put in the best line-up and scores the most finish higher. Points scored is the way and that exists. Not as much fun as the H2H and all the smack talking that can result.
