Drafts - Extended draft pick times and slow drafts
This would allow commissioners to extend the time that is allotted to each team for each pick during the draft longer than the current maximum. Currently, the maximum draft pick time is 2 minutes.

2 minutes is not enough time in between picks. We host a live draft but there are always 1 or 2 guys who can't make it so we have to use an online draft set up for them to take part. Yahoo allows for a max of 2 minutes between picks. Make unlimited an option or at least go up to 10 minutes.

Other sites allow this, why can’t Yahoo? Yahoo is too strict on the time limiting policy, and 15 minutes is entirely too short of a limit.

I agree 100% We had several glitches during the draft (not related to internet connectivity) and I was unable to undo any picks because the 15 minutes of pause time were used up. We definitely need unlimited pause time (or at least up to 60 minutes). We didn't even have the opportunity to pause for a bathroom break! We will be moving our league to ESPN or CBS sports next year if this is not improved.

Some players are newer and need more time selecting. As commissioner we should have the option to set 3 or 4 minute draft times...been in yahoo for years. Would like to have this implemented

The two-minute draft clock limit is an arbitrary limitation on leagues that isn't conducive for leagues that meet to draft in person and like to take their time with the draft. Of course, there is the option to plug in the players manually, but that adds additional effort for the commissioner and sometimes can result in miscommunications without a live draft board. Allowing for us to use the software Yahoo! provides with a draft clock that is longer than two minutes, or even allowing for there to be no draft clock, would vastly improve the experience.

Create live drafts that have a customized timer and notifications. Simple right! Yahoo! already does both, why not combine the two. This would allow leagues such as mine to do a slow draft which a manager has hours or days to select a player then when they do the next manager would receive a notification that they are on the clock. Currently my league does this through GoogleDocs and texts. Yahoo! would be able to charge for this ability I'm sure. The other platforms allow you to do this but it costs a lot and I really like to use Yahoo! Fantasy.

The problem with that is some commishs would pause for hours, if not days, and that cannot be supported by the infrastructure.
Offline drafts are always the best option if you have time constraint concerns.

Please allow the commissioner to pause the draft an unlimited amount of times for the online draft. In a league where we can trade draft picks - it's annoying when the commissioner is unable to pause the draft to work out the players being picked up.

In the real world (such as the NFL Draft), there IS a time limit. If you have to take 3 days to select a player (which seems to be what you want here), then you shouldn't be playing fantasy.

Consider giving commissioners an option to remove time limit from live online drafts. I know first-hand of one league that is only still in CBS for that reason (even though yahoo is way better than cbs in every other aspect)

Just do offline draft.

Sounds like you are doing an offline draft, enter them later.

I agree that allowing more time per pick is crucial. Similar to another post, we use 3 minutes per pick in the first several rounds due to it being a keeper league as well. There are certain owners that like to take the full 3 minutes and we would like to add the auto draft functionality for people that can only make part of the draft or can't make it at all. I'm not sure why you would create a maximum amount per pick. It should just be up to each league to set their times.

yikes how can you not speed it up? Or just write them down on paper and then enter them. I did one two minutes last year and some people were just never prepared and took an excessive amount of time and I made them all a minute. My first two this year, 12 players x 20 rounds at 1 minute, first one took 90 minutes, second took 45. I'm cutting to :45 going forward as most who took a while were just puttering around anyway.

Currently, draft rounds can only have a maximum length of two minutes. Why? There should be higher time limits available, and the ability to add different time limits to different rounds.
In a keeper league, and we like to give the first few rounds an extra minute or two, and then drop down to two minutes a round after that. Seems crazy that Yahoo drafting is so strict. Shouldn't be a very difficult change to implement.

Your post makes no sense because it is not readable. Try using less profanity and try again.

In this case I would suggest you do an offline draft. That removes all time pressure.

Sure, everyone would love to do an offline draft in person with their friends. A pick is rarely made in 2 minutes as everyone is conversing and having a good time. For leagues where 1-2 (a minority of the league) players cannot attend the live draft there must be an option for more draft time. 2 minutes is simply not enough.
