Playoffs - Odd number of teams
This playoff format would allow for an odd number of teams in the playoffs. Currently, this is not an option for playoff formats.

Commish can manually set draft order, so why not just do that?

We used to have a consolation round --- where did it go? Bring it back! My first year, I was in a Yahoo league with 12 teams, but only four playoff spots. I won the consolation round, and remember that that was a whole lot more fun than having nothing to do for the last weeks of the season. This is fun --- keep things in that make it fun!

Agreed...
I could settle for this. My true wish would take too much code. -

I agree it would be good to have some other option for a tiebreaker if the league prefers not to ever allow ties to happen.

With fractional scoring ties are almost impossible, but if they happen its not a big deal, the tie could end up being a tie breaker for your play-offs. The NFL has them so why shouldn't fantasy sports

I agree totally, it's not just a fantasy football problem, it's a fantasy everything problem, ties are stupid have a tie breaker option so we don't have to deal with this. Honestly, I can't believe you guys need users to tell you this, why do you think most leagues have come up with ways where ties aren't possible?

Which league's scoring would you use? What if the same player is on both teams?

A fully customizable playoff schedule would be great. You give us the option to fully customize the regular schedule, why not the playoffs?
Most other fantasy sites allow this already. We've been with Yahoo for 12 years, this has always been an issue. We've had to manage the schedule from the message board and notify everyone who they are playing each week. It's time for a change! -

You do realize that the commissioner can adjust the scoring manually. So if you want to add bench scoring as a tiebreaker, the commish can give +.01 points for that.

Nice idea, but what if the teams in the consolation bracket are all non-active managers? If that's the case, then the league commish should be able to allow or disallow the winner of the consolation bracket to be awarded top pick in the following year's draft, or better yet, to select draft position based on the previous season's reverse order of standings. But yes, I agree, it is a fantastic idea nonetheless.

Simple solution for something that should already be in place. Yahoo needs to relinquish more control to commissioners. YAHOO, PLEASE FIX THIS NOW!

Exactly right. This is BS. I had an idea for a 14 team league with no divisions and a 13 game schedule where everybody plays everybody once. Tie breaker is head to head matchup there would be no season splits. If two teams finished 11-2 at the top the team who won the head to head matchup would get a bye as the #1 seed and the other 11-2 team would be the #2 seed and play the #7 seed.

I agree. We have a 12-team league and want the 4 teams that don't make the playoffs square off in a Loser playoff to keep everyone interested and playing until the final week. This also gives the team in last place a chance to not come in last.

Agreed! They need a Wildcard option. You can just choose to have it be the team with the next best record, the team with the most points, or maybe even the team with the best division record. My ideal would be 12man, 2 divisions, div winners get top spots, followed by next two by record, and then the final two teams being those with the highest remaining point totals.

i have a 16 team L, two divisions of 8. top two teams from each division make playoffs.
as someone else has posted, if yahoo doesnt offer the feature we'll have to do manual playoffs via the mag brd & have inaccurate history. this is our 11th yr & history means alot to us.
please allow us to create custom playoffs.

You could also just reward your regular season champ with a small money prize. Our regular season champ gets money equal to the original buy-in. They then obviously have the chance to still play for the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place prize.
