Playoffs - Odd number of teams
This playoff format would allow for an odd number of teams in the playoffs. Currently, this is not an option for playoff formats.

I'm in a 16 team league. I would like to have the option of 2 different playoffs where the top 6 have the traditional NFL playoffs with the top 2 division winners get a bye and a consolation bracket of the top 8. This would allow for top 14 to make the playoffs instead of top 12 and only the top two teams would get the bye. How would I go about doing this?

Completely agree. Our 14 team league would love to do a 7 team playoff format but Yahoo won't allow it. I would have to manually make the 8th seed lose each year.

With a league of 14 teams, I want to have 7 teams make the playoffs w the reg season champ being awarded a bye. Why doesn't Yahoo allow this? It's either 6 or 8 teams.

Voted! Moved my league from ESPN to Yahoo. ESPN had this as an option, really surprised that Yahoo doesnt.

Yahoo system is very user friendly, but the options need improved. Doubleheaders is the first thing, BUT....I would settle for customizable playoffs because we could setup the doubleheaders on our own and customize how we setup the playoffs.

Honestly, we really want to switch to Yahoo for fantasy football but refuse because still after all this time int he fantasy world your playoff system is very very outdated and limited.
ESPN allows single week matchups and 2 week matchups. Not only that you can determine your season length. For football and baseball. This alone is the only reason we use ESPN. We like yahoo more but until the customizable season length and playoff options are changed we won't be using Yahoo.
Please allow for that option. Extremely easy to do and not complicated for a company generally leading in the fantasy market.

Totally agree. This forum is a joke. 4 years on the number 1 issue. No response from yahoo.
And what changes do they make?? The remove the polling option from the message board. They remove the draft analysis numbers from the flex position. And they replace our classic helmets with these new cartoon cupcakes. 3 major down grades with no upgrades. Who thought that was a good idea? Fire them!
Are we on the same planet here?

My comments on this are 5 years old. 14 team league. Still would like to have 6 in the championship and 8 in the consolidation instead of having the bottom 2 teams eliminated completely.
Also would like a 7 team, 1 bye option. Top 7 in championship, bottom 7 in consolation. Teams 1 and 8 get a bye which solves for the odd team match-up. Re-seed after first round (4 teams left in each bracket)

My league has a requested this too. A manual way to do it would be to make it 8 teams and have the commissioner bench everybody on the 8th seed's team. Only that would prevent the 8 seed from playing in consolation bracket.

Please for the love of God, change the playoff option to accommodate a 14 team league and 7 playoff spots with one bye week... I don't understand why you uys won't listen to us... I've been loyal for 10 years... And on my way out... Please help!

Please please please add a 7 teams/1 bye playoff setting. Yahoo show you care about you customers and listen to us. Its a little ridiculous that all other fantasy companys have fully customizable playoffs and you guys still have only 3 basic options. Please reply yahoo. Thank you

Well, that, and Yahoo implementing any real substantive change to their fantasy football platform.
I really hope a competitor comes along one of these days and actually puts together reliable real-time stat tracking and a functional, robust and diverse platform.
