Dynasty/Keepers - Leave league open to allow trading, adds, and drops during the offseason.
This would allow managers to make all league transactions within the platform, including adds, drops, and trades, throughout the year.

Anonymous, you must work for yahoo. All you do is make excuses for them and tell us how we can do it ourselves which most of us already know and do. We are saying its a pain ********** and yahoo should make it user friendly or people wont stay with the site to play fantasy sports. Also you keep saying they don't run it year round, well no **** that's also obvious. Yahoo brags how they have such a great fantasy site and we are giving them feedback to make it better which is what they ask for. We don't need you on here nullifying anything we say by more or less saying suck it up and keep putting up with mediocrity.

The Dynasty/Keeper functionality is really lacking. When I import draft order with trades it populates in the order that people signed up this season and not the order in which we finished the previous season. yes I know I can edit the order but I shouldn't have to if its imported.
Also when we set keepers the commish still has to go through and assign them to the respective teams to "keep" them. what a pain!!! If we set keepers why don't they automatically go on the team they came from. Finally Dynasty must be usable year round or whats the point of saying you offer dynasty. If some of these issues aren't fixed we will be looking for a different server and your site wont survive if you don't try to keep up with the fantasy craze. -

As others have said, you can run a dynasty league in Yahoo without too much difficulty. Simply change the number of keepers allowed to include the entire roster.
There are a few things that could really improve this though:
1) Leave the league open year round. Yahoo is getting better and better on this front. They just auto-renewed my league from last year. The "opening" date used to be in July. So it is only February thru May that the league is now shut down. Hopefully next year the option to remain open year round will become available.
2) Make it a bit easier to import the previous years rosters. Actually rather than have to "import" then, have them be always available with the same owners. Then the only change that need to be made would be to transfer the team should a previous owner exit the league.
3) Give the draft a few more automatic options. With Custom Draft order, the commish can certainly do whatever needs to be done.
But for example, some leagues put all keepers into the first or last rounds of the draft. For a 15-payer roster with 6 keepers, this in effect, takes the keepers off the table and simply leaves a 9-round draft to flesh out the roster. Having an option to auto-configure the draft like this would be sweet for such leagues. This would not affect me personally as I no-longer play in any league with this format, but it might attract more leagues to Yahoo.

Making this feature available for dynasty/keeper league support all year around makes business sense when I start considering switching to ESPN because they have this availability. I have fought hard with members of my league to use Yahoo instead of ESPN because of the other great things about Yahoo Fantasy Football but this may be the straw that breaks the camel's back. ESPN Fantasy Football leagues have ads on their sites year round, too. It seems like an easy decision to either lose my business and clicks or make this change.

There are many dynasty leagues on Yahoo! in all sports.

A dynasty league is basically a keeper league but you keep all or nearly all of your players. You can run a dynasty league as a keeper league, there is not a separate dynasty option.

Have a dynasty league feature that allows you earlier access to the league almost all year round and have a maximum of 40-50 players you can have on a roster. Also allow commissioner to edit more rules and deadlines.

Below is what I see as a commissioner:
Scoring Settings Edit the scoring categories and point modifiers you chose during registration. Until League starts All

Kelly, all settings, including the settings that can be changed during the season, are locked after the last game. Yahoo! does not currently support year round access for their fantasy sports.
-

The Stat and Score Settings are disabled after the league starts, not after the last game. The Stat and Score Settings should be the only item disabled until the leagues are renewed. The commissioner should at least prep the league for next season and allow off-season trading.

Yahoo! does not support fantasy sports year round. For football, the league settings lock after the last game is played and can be changed when the league is renewed next year. One reason this is done is to prevent league scoring settings from being changed affecting the outcome of the previous season. It also doesn't pay for Yahoo! to support a fantasy sport during that sport's dead months.

Here is the issue:
Once football season ends, the activity on the boards and chatrooms ramps down and the number of clicks on the fantasy football links goes way down. Since advertisers are looking to get as many views as possible, an area getting no visits is not going to get the ad dollars to support it.
So for free, it doesn't make business sense to keep the game open year round because it will cost them to support it without any offsetting ad dollars.
For a fee, then it may make more sense. If a league is willing to pay an annual fee for year round support, then maybe that business model would make sense to Yahoo!

yup. Yahoo doesn't support this while every other decent fantasy site on the planet does. Goes to show you how much Yahoo sucks and how much they don't care what their loyal users want. Theres another thread on this topic you should read and participate in. It is the second highest ranked request on Yahoo fantasy sports right now and has been going on for almost a year. Unfortunately the dolts at Yahoo have totally ignored it. They are just too lazy to change anything no matter how many people plead for the change. Yahoo fantasy sports are run by absolute idiots. here is the link: https://yahoo.uservoice.com/forums/206158-fantasy-football/suggestions/6063048-dynasty-keeper-trades-and-editing-rosters-always-n

Yahoo! does not support year round activity for fantasy sports. What the commish can do is keep track of the trade during the off season, then after renewing the league next season, process the trade using commish tools.

Hey Yahoo.... wake the F--- UP!!! Season is over and we still can't make off season trades (for keeper leagues). Why? Don't you READ these forums and listen to what we are begging you to do?
Or, as I expect, do you simply not care? Watch with amazement as more loyal Yahoo users run to other more user-friendly and Keeper league-friendly hosts.
You guys stink. You had 9 months since this request started and you did nothing. You fail. I hope everyone sells their Yahoo stock because if the rest of the company is as customer-unfriendly as the Yahoo fantasy sites are, then Yahoo will be going down like the Titanic.
Again, Yahoo fantasy football managers suck. No response to any legitimate requests = we are starting to hate you.
