Rosters/Designations - Option to lock players (including benched players) when their game begins.
This option, when turned on, will prevent managers from dropping players from their bench or IR slot when their game begins. Currently, you can drop any player from your non-starting roster, even if their game has started.
A setting to lock benched players has been added to all of our full season fantasy games and should now be available under Commissioner tools. (Commissioner tab >> League Settings tab >> Edit League Settings)

Yes fully agree 10000%. Its ludacris its allowed and even more ludacris that you cant change the setting!! If i have a player playing monday night who is a gametime desicion and i want to pick up the back and cant because another guy dropped his bum player who played on sunday night. He is cheating the system and the integrity of waiver claims is completely destroyed. So someone who picks up a bad player, they play and see they suck when he plays then gets rewarded the option to snake another player off of waivers who hasnt played yet!!! Outrageous!!!

This is a major error that needs to be fixed. Comissioners need to be able to prevent this.

You need to remove the ability to drop bench players once they've played. This is the only platform that allows this and multiple analysts have spoke out about why this shouldn't be allowed.
If a player tears his ACL on Thursday Night Football, you should't be allowed to drop him for another player who has yet to play, even if he was on your bench.
At a minimum, you should add a setting for commissioners that locks all players to a team's roster once they have played, regardless of if they are starters or benched. -

I see a real potential problem when it comes to prohibiting the dropping of "bench players" of teams that have already played.
For example, an unforeseen emergency (such as food poisoning) could arise to a player in someone's starting lineup several hours prior to the Monday Night game. This would require picking up a free-agent replacement (assuming one is available); and as such, would likely require dropping a player to make room. One cannot suggest to drop the suddenly injured player; such player may be on the Can't Cut List (and therefore, undroppable). It also may not be possible to put such player on IR, especially if the league doesn't use IR spots. The only other option is to drop one of the other bench players and it's very likely that every available bench player is one whose team has already played earlier that week. One should not be forced to "take a zero" in one's starting lineup spot, especially if there is last-minute help available from the free-agent pool.

At least make some kind of option for commissioners to lock players from being dropped at game time!!

I just made a post about this. I would like to see some kind of option to change this setting. It's unfair that a team can get a free speculative add if his Thursday guy didn't work out. and the solution is NOT to change the setting to everyone being locked on Thursday so you can't pick anyone up before Sunday. Just lock players so they are undroppable after game time, not too much to ask. ESPN site has perfected this, and right now this is the only flaw I see with yahoo

Bench players whose teams have played may still be dropped, allowing the team to sign player on teams whose games have not begun. At a minimum, there should be an option to disallow dropping such players, and require them to remain on the roster until waivers begin. While my league likes the Yahoo platform, other platforms allow this option, and we hope that Yahoo could allow such a restriction rather than needing to switch platforms.

I like having the Waivers run once a day (almost everyday) so there's never a time a team can simply Add a player based off of breaking news... they have to put a Waiver claim in. However, with this "Continuous" Waiver option in Yahoo, it doesn't Lock the Thursday night guys once they've played. When our Waivers process on Saturday, the Thursday night guys are available to put a bid in! That makes no sense!
So PLEASE Yahoo, simply add an option to Lock Players at Gametime (regardless of the Waivers setting). It's a simple option that other main platforms have.

This really needs changed. Players are getting dropped who played Sunday and added players are playing Monday. OBJ might be out, Team A should be forced to plan for him being out by adding someone Sunday. If not, Team B sees 2 players on his bench plau terrible, they then drop them and add Shepard and Engram as flyers and block Team A from them. Also, they are using them as early waiver pickups, should 1 of those players have a huge game.
Please change this, or my leauge will be forced to go to a pay site that has this rule in place.
Or make it a comissionor option to set. PLEASE!!

Searched first before posting, and it seems this issue has been raised before. The rule should change to any player that is on a roster is locked once that player's game begins. No dropping. I am tired of seeing managers play catch and release on Thursdays. Case in point: John Ross gets activated Thursday night. My opponent drops his kicker to pick him up just to see if he pans out. He flops, and my opponent is allowed to promptly drop him and add another kicker without penalty. Had he started Ross, obviously he'd have been locked. My argument is that for consistency, this should also be the case for bench players, as the OP states. This is how it works on other platforms.

"so players can NOT be picked up for Sunday and Monday games after the Thursday kick off" is what I should have typed.

This option exists today. For the Weekly Waivers setting, use First game of the week. That will lock all rosters and prevent players from Thursday from being dropped, however, it will also lock all free agents, so players can be picked up for Sunday and Monday after the Thursday kick off.

Players should be on a manager's team for the remainder of the week after they have played their game. As it now stands, players can be dropped after they have played for the week, which enables owners to keep a player from being picked up by another manager without any drawback to their own team. I will most likely migrate my league to another provider if an option for this is not implemented for next year.

This is not an error, this is a planned behavior. Players in the BN position can be dropped at anytime regardless of when their team plays.

Roster stretching...there is a loophole in the system that allows owners to drop bench players who's games have already started for players who's teams have yet to play however starting players and free agents are locked at kickoff of those same games, this has the effect of giving owners the ability to stretch their rosters by holding some players om their bench and dumping them for others if they get injured or suck...please fix this issue

It is clearly stated in the rules the BN players can be dropped.

Block any team owner from dropping a player that has played, regardless of whether they are in their active line up or on their bench. The owner in my match up did not set his lineup before the games started. After the Sunday night game when he saw that he had a chance to win if he had set his lineup correctly, he dropped two players from his bench that had already played on Sunday to add two players in the Monday night game. Now he stands a very good chance to get the win. Whereas, before he was going to lose.
Yahoo should make the change to lock all players that have already played regardless if the are in the active lineup or on the bench.
