Playoffs - Customizable consolation bracket.
This feature will allow commissioners to do the following;
- Turn the consolation bracket on or off
- Change the number of teams the league has in the consolation bracket
- Customize the seeding and teams in the consolation bracket.
Currently, the consolation bracket is only available for 4 and 6 team playoff format, it is not able to be turned on and off, and does not allow for the commissioner to change the number of teams in the consolation bracket or customize the teams/seeding.

I agree with this fully. We have a 12 team league with 3 divisions where the division champs and a wildcard team play the playoffs in Weeks 15 and 16. Our team in dead last has to pay for trophy engraving(and shipping if necessary), so it would be nice to be able to have the bottom four teams play each other for the "privilege" of doing that. Currently my league has a consolation bracket, but it is for teams ranked 5-8. If that could be switched to 9-12, it would be perfect.

They can, on paper. They can set their "official" roster and give it to the commish. After the games, the commish and players can use the info on Yahoo! for the players to accumulate the scores.

Seriously....why can't the last two teams battle it out for last place. This is something I suggested last year and you said it was worth the look. With leagues like 'The League' around battling for the first and worst it makes sense. Do us all a favor and introduce the last place game for leagues. Thanks.....again

With the advent of the "Sacko Bowl" in the League, lots more leagues are doing this, and it would be nice to have customization of the tournament bracket to support it.

An 8 or 6 team championship bracket and a 6 or 8 team loser bracket (I play in a 14 team league)would allow those leagues with penalties for the league losers to have a meaningful end to their season. Can also help with next year's draft order and cement bragging rights for the off season. As an example, we do a round of golf in the spring where the bottom 4 have to caddy for the top 4, everyone else has to carry their own clubs but at least they get to play and not just caddy. The difference of playing to not lose instead of win, it adds a bit more competition and fun.

We do this manually, too - call it the "Toilet Bowl." Should be easy to do.

along the same lines, during bye weeks, need a way to keep track of a lineup for a team on bye.
Reason: in both cases, our league uses the total points of non-playoff teams to determine draft order where the team finishing with the highest number of points gets the top pick (not the team that stop maintaining their roster). Last Place face-off and bye-week points counter allows for "Total Points" in playoffs to be updated so I can easily determine that the among the non-playoff teams, the highest Total Points gets first pick and so forth.

This is a good idea, every league should be able to point to the definitive last place team, either for ridicule or some minor help like better draft position the following year.

Just keeping asking, never know who might want to join. You have two months. Even 90210 rotated outsiders into the "gang".

I would need to go out and make two more friends to have 12 teams, Steve, which is probably way harder than making a head-to-head option at the end of the year over byes, haha

Or you could have 12 teams :)

This would be great! It's never fun seeing our commissioner sitting on the sidelines during the playoffs.

I think this is a great idea!

Is it possible to set up a last place game during playoffs?
For instance, my league is a 10-teamer -- 4 teams make the playoffs, 4 teams in the consolation tournament. The remaining two teams (9th and 10th place) simply have byes during the tournaments (week 15 and 16 in our case).
Is there anyway to set it up so that those 9th and 10th place teams play each other head to head during week 15 or 16? We have a last place trophy that goes to the team that finishes last in the standings. I think it may be more entertaining to follow the game on Stattracker, give the 10th place team the opportunity to jump to 9 regardless of record and have it 'decided on the field,' as it were.
Thank you for the consideration!

I am suggesting having three brackets because we have a 12 team league where 4 go to the playoffs 4 to the consolation bracket and 4 to a losers bracket played in reverse order to determine the bottom spot of the league.

I like this!
In my pool (10 teams, 8 playoff) we have the bottom two teams play a best of 3 during the 3 weeks of playoffs to battle and the one who wins gets first overall pick.
Being able to change the playoff formats would be a fun aspect.
If a league has a reseeded draft format (the one currently in NFL... superbowl winning team gets last pick) there should be an option to customize the rest of the playoff layout. The team that finishes 3rd in current formats would essentially get 3rd last pick, but if he is the best of the worst (non finalists) the league should have the option of them 'winning' the highest playoff seeded pick (3rd pick in a 10 team 8 playoff pool) -

A "consolation" bracket is available now.
The commissioner of your league can add it to your league's settings (rules) for next year.
However, I don't know about a 6-team championship bracket in the same league as an 8-team consolation bracket.
