Rosters/Lineups - Roster limits for positions.
This feature would allow commissioners to set the maximum and minimum number of players a team can roster at each position at a given time. For example, teams can have a maximum of 3 QBs on their roster or a team can have a minimum of 1 kicker. Currently there is no way to set the maximum or minimum number of players a team can roster at each position.

If I join a league and then the Commish imposes this limit rule,
will I be allowed to drop the league?
In the past, when the Commish changes rules,
Yahoo has not allowed us to drop out of the league. -

This "problem" is not really the problem.
The true "problem" involves how a league's commissioner sets up the scoring system.
If you set up your league with RBs and QBs scoring lots more points than the other positions, then of course you'll have managers drafting extra RBs and QBs.
If you set up your league so that DEFs and Ks and return specialists also have good value,
then managers will choose extra DEFs and Ks and return specialists.
The issue here involves supply and demand.
WRs have an over-supply, so you don't benefit from picking extra WRs unless return specialists are rewarded in your league specs.
DEFs and Ks are actually in shorter supply than RBs and QBs. It is amazing how much differently a manager will draft when DEFs and Ks and return specialists are valuable positions on a roster.
So, just reduce the value of RBs & QBs and watch this "problem" disappear. -

I think this is a NEEDED option for the Commish to utilize (whether in private or public leagues). It is better to have it and need it,than not have it. So if this functionality becomes available, if you choose not to use, then that's fine for that league.

Allow league commissioners to impose position limits in private leagues

If it exists for public and pro leagues, how hard would it be to extend to private leagues? Would make life a lot easier on league commissioners.

I would hate to join a league and then have the Commish put in a rule which limits how many players I can have in each position.
It's not necessary. It's not needed. It's not helpful. -

The most likely players to get injured are RBs.
So, of course, you benefit from drafting a couple extra RBs.
I want to keep that ability.
I don't want to see leagues in which managers are limited to too few RBs. -

Extremely useful in large 2 QB leagues. It almost makes moving my league if 15 years to ESPN worth it as guys have less and less time to police the league than when we were all young and in college. Would just be an option. Wouldn’t ruin anything if it wasn’t set by default, unlike what some ameatuers falsely believe below.

Can you put a max on the number of players at a position, e.g. max 4 RBs?

Option should be added for commissioners in private leagues.

I am in a league that is totally auto-draft and would like to avoid too many players at a given position. Please allow the limits down to the team level. This would help those who can't be a the live draft as well.

Make position limits available at the team level. I am in a league that is totally auto-draft and getting 5 RBs, 3 WRs and 2 DST just doesn't cut it.

This should remain in control of the commissioner. Our league doesn't want position limits.

You should tell the people in your league to stop being douchbags. That's a lame thing to do and they should get public shaming from the league or a punishment for doing it.

Why would you want position limits?
