Injury Designations - Commissioner can customize IR eligible injury designations
This setting would give the commissioner the power to change what injury designations are eligible for IR. For example, the commissioner could elect to only allow players with the IR designation into IR roster slots. They could also allow players with D (doubtful) to be IR eligible.
Commissioners would be able to toggle the following designations as IR eligible;
P - Probable
Q - Questionable
D - Doubtful
O - Out
IR - Injured reserve
SUSP - Suspended
NA - Not active
COVID-19 - COVID-19
Currently commissioners can't toggle what designations are IR eligible. O (out), COVID-19 and IR (injured reserve) are the only designations that are IR eligible.

Wow such a funny coincidence. Our league had something like this come up today, too! Totally agree. Huge problem. HELP, yahoo!!!

It has been mentioned that it is not "illegal" to leave an active player in an IR spot because they can't make transactions, but this essentially gives a manager an extra roster spot, especially in smaller leagues with deep benches where you can go a while without transactions.
Our league would prefer you can't even move starters if you have an active player in an IR spot. Essentially you should have to deal with that discrepancy before you can do anything else, but there is no way to configure this. The only option is to manually track it and enforce an arbitrary rules/penalty (FAAB budget deduction?). It'd be much nicer if this was handled by default (or configurable).

I agree with these ideas, I also believe that with the Covid designation, a team manager should be able to start another player, with the covid player in the covid designation slot, and whether the covid player ends up playing or not, the higher of the 2 players scores for the week is counted in the teams points.
Prime example: I have Adam Theilen, however he is listed as covid but needs to be retested, he does not play until sunday. The next best player option I have is marvin jones, he played thursday. So If I start Theilen and he doesnt end up playing bc of covid, I lose Marvin's points. In my example, if there was a covid designation and I subbed marvin for theilen, if thielen ends up playing I would get the higher of the 2 players points.
Similiar situations like this occur for injuries too. The Thursday and Monday games really throw off how managers can manage their lineups, especially with covid.
I am more than willing to speak on this more of a rep can get back to me, thank you.

Agree this needs to be addressed. When two or more NFL teams have games canceled due to COVID, it puts pressure on Fantasy Team Managers who essentially have extra byes to contend with. Going forward it is likely there will be further cancelations and the NFL will not be able to just move bye weeks around. Yahoo sports should adopt a policy of allowing players on NFL teams that have had their game moved DUE TO COVID, to be placed on IR rather than have them clog up a Fantasy Team Manager's bench. I have slotted 5 IR positions in our league to deal with COVID this year, but frankly, with Yahoo's policy on COVID designations it makes those spots useless from a practical standpoint.
SLEEPER, another fantasy platform, gives every player on a team that does not play due to COVID a COVID designation. Certainly since Yahoo has added COVID as a designation and programmed the IR slot to accept it, Yahoo could create a designation like GCDC (Game Canceled Due to COVID), or something such as this, and program the IR slot to accept it.
Please consider changing this policy.

Players on bye week can't go in an IR position and players who end up on bye early due to covid should be the same.

I added IR spots this year due to the impending troubles with COVID. However, if games are going to continually postponed I suggest allowing commissioners the option to add a PPD roster spot that works like an IR spot. This way teams can store them an add a replacement with out having to drop a player they need or do not wish to drop.

Yes, please designate COVID players or PPD players as OUT of IR, so we can use the IR designation abs not loss these players! We added 5 IR spots in our league to cover this, but right now, we can’t move these players to IR...

That's not a big deal if the NFL makes it their bye week. Those players were going to be lost for 1 week anyways. It is when a player is placed on IR and Yahoo doesn't change the designation. You can't put the player on your IR list and pick someone up on waivers until Yahoo gets around to changing the status. Austin Ekeler is in that position right now, bad enough losing him for 3+ weeks, can't replace him until Yahoo fixes the designation. This has happened a lot this year.

All players that are ppd due to covid should be eligible for ir. Not just ones who test positive. I have mahones and can’t open up a spot with out dropping, but the guy with newton can. This is a distinct advantage

Please list them as out so we do not have to drop them. Adding IR spots does no good if we cannot put the players in them!

I did the same, we usually have non. Now we need yahoo to actually make it possible by listing the players on IR.

just list them as out. Then we can put on IR. Not too tough...

Please change the status of the Tennessee and Steelers to IR. I opened 2 IR roster spots in case players are affected by the Corona Virus. That will allow managers to replace that player with somebody else that week

This needs to be done today. This is ruining rosters. Either a league didn't prepare and the COVID-19 IR designation won't affect it negatively. Or the league prepared well, like mine, has the IR slots that now cannot be utilized. This needs to be adjusted by the game time tonight.

This would be smart for them to do. Another APP I use, Sleeper, just made this change today. Keep up, Yahoo!
