Injury Designations - Commissioner can customize IR eligible injury designations
This setting would give the commissioner the power to change what injury designations are eligible for IR. For example, the commissioner could elect to only allow players with the IR designation into IR roster slots. They could also allow players with D (doubtful) to be IR eligible.
Commissioners would be able to toggle the following designations as IR eligible;
P - Probable
Q - Questionable
D - Doubtful
O - Out
IR - Injured reserve
SUSP - Suspended
NA - Not active
COVID-19 - COVID-19
Currently commissioners can't toggle what designations are IR eligible. O (out), COVID-19 and IR (injured reserve) are the only designations that are IR eligible.

Something so simple as making them IR eligible should not require Corporate approval nor 15 board meetings. Let's get it done and done fast.

DO IT !!!!!

Just add a IR slot that is only for covid-19 positive players. Its simple and should not take much to add that in.

I disagree. If someone is Out or IR its basically the same thing for that week. Plus many out happen last minute. You shouldn't have to drop someone because of that if it happen late sunday or Monday...especially if they are a good player.

I disagree with this one. It is one of the things I don't like about nfl.com. You could end up having to cut players due to multiple injuries.

Please instead of just an IR spot available. This year put a Covid 19 spot so when a player gets Covid, they can put them on that roster spot only for a limited time. That way players don't get screwed for having a player come down with Covid 19 when they have players on bye and have to drop top players that week.

I believe yahoo should expand the IR designation qualification for players to include all Covid-19 related issues in case players are affected by the virus, INCLUDING players sitting out due to Covid-19 fears. This will help alleviate some stresses and hardships some team managers may face when trying to navigate through these times. It would be unfair to drop a 1st or 2nd round pick that is sitting out due to Covid-19 fears and that same player announces his comeback and that manager’s waiver priority limits him/her from adding that player back when they could have designated him to an IR spot with a Covid-19 designation. Think this will be major for leagues going forward as a lot of people are skeptical about even having a league this year with news like this floating around. It also helps with the players that may catch Covid-19 during the season and need to quarantine, we can easily move them to an IR spot with that designation and hit the waivers.

Yeah, this needs to happen. At the very minimum give us the option of having and IR (COVID Only) roster spot. I would rather not have to police it myself in our league.

Prepare for corona effects by setting up a specific DL for players sidelined. The idea is to allow teams to maintain rosters without being penalized by the random nature of the disease. Thus, Reserve/COVID players would not count against roster size.

ya, this is awful, cant flip flop back and forth IL. Once yahoo ok's IL they should stay there until they play. Totally unfair that we have to add/and drop according to this whim. Im trying to make a waiver claim and cant because TY Hilton lost his IL status. He has missed 2 straight games. Yahoo projects him to get zero points this week and already has him projected for points the week after.

No one wants to keep IR players in that slot for 8 weeks. That’s like 80% of the season. Might as well not even have an IR slot then. Keep the O... I’d include suspended players in this spot too actually

i disagree, it helps manage rosters when a player is out

If yahoo changed this to be only IR, I would take my league off Yahoo. They already are terrible about changing injury designations. They've literally changed DeSean Jackson back to Q/D every frigging week for the past 6 weeks, only to change him back to O despite no one saying he'd be ready to play or even practicing. C'mon, really? And now AJ Green has been designated as out and not even travelling with the **** team, and he's still not O. Yahoo should not change a player away from O until they have practiced at least once!

If you change this, which I would NOT. You will need to creat another "Inactive" position to put players.
This one correctly covers all: IR/PUP/O
Makes absolutely perfect sense to me.
-

I believe that "O" was used as a designation so you do no have to drop a drafted or talented player just because he's hurt you have to go pick up someone temporary just for a week or so as a filler.
I would leave this alone!!
No one wants a player going through BYE WEEKS that's out for weeks and you really don't know when they are coming back.
Just like the real NFL, if a player is OUT and not playing that week, they do not activate them on their 45 man game day roster, they are inactive.
So this is our inactive position because they are not playing that week.

exactly what I came here to post. Please update this Yahoo!

Gallup is OUT 2-4 weeks yet still tagged as Q...can you make him O so we can put him in our IR spot before waivers? Thank you!

For the IR spot, I would suggest letting the commish select what designations are IR eligible. Our league only wants to use the slot for IR designated players not player listed as "out" for short periods.

@Jack Lynn I agree in general - however this isn’t something that Yahoo should do midseason (which is what they did) since Gordon owners took him with the assumption he would be able to go to IR since that’s how it was in the past (and even for most of week 1). Yahoo should make this change after the season and make sure everyone’s aware of the change
