Scoring - Team Position Points
This scoring setting credits all points scored by a specific position on an NFL team to the manager who rosters them. Most commonly, team QBs are used in this scenario. For example, if Russell Wilson gets hurt, the team that started him would get the points from Geno Smith for the rest of the game. Currently we don't offer this setting.

Would love a Team QB option especially this year with Covid19. If you draft Mitchell Trubisky, you get Foles & Bray also. It would make managing your team easier during this pandemic.

You can’t have a 2 QB league with 12 teams with individual QB setting.

Have a team QB option also called TQB

Like ESPN, when you have your QB in the game and he gets taken out of the game (injury or just replaced) that you still get points for who ever is QBing for that team....Team QB

This is absolutely ******* stupid. no, you don't get to do this. If you want a teams QBs, then draft them all.

I think that whether you're talking about Team QB's or having your bench sub in when a starter gets injured, having a way to fill in would make Fantasy Football more like real football, and make Yahoo Fantasy Football better.

I like this idea, when the league is set up, it would either be a player league or a team league. Snake order picking by position. Commissioner would pick the order of the positions selected.

Ok. So if Antonio Brown goes down in the first quarter I should also get his replacement's points? This is a terrible idea and goes against what fantasy sports are at their core. We select individual players and hope for the best. Knowing that injuries will sometimes work for you or against you.

Yeah -- and let's have a team RB and a team WR and a team K and ...
Maybe we should just stick to individual players for QB. -

I do not agree with this post. Mishaps are a part of fantasy and add to the excitement and luck factor of the game. Nobody wants their player to get injured, but it happens. That goes for all things negative towards players, no one wants their player to fumble either but again, part of the game. Creating team QB's would be adding too much security for teams and eliminating that upset factor for lower teams in leagues.
A team that isn't doing well for the season doesn't have that opportunity to beat the first place guy that has 2015 Cam Newton putting up 35 points a game. It adds more depth and chance to fantasy, also creating more waiver opportunities and potentially changing the balance of the league.

And to Michael Lapine's comment - just as an FYI... RB's/WR's do get points when they act as a QB.

First off... a lot of you are still not getting the concept. It would be impossible to draft a back-up quarterback. Your "QB" position is a team. So using Washington as the example - if you take them for your QB, you get Cousins, RG3 and McCoy. Combined, they are considered one player - and neither back-up could be individually drafted.
That said, while there is no real advantage for TeamQB format - other than it is a softer friendlier version of FF. If you were starting a league with a lot of people that had never played - it would be worth considering. The first couple years I played FF, this was the format and it made things a little easier in getting acclimated.
But for the average somewhat experienced player - individual QB's is definitely more competitive. As with any position or game - sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Sometimes your players get injured, and sometimes they play and don't do squat anyway. That's the nature of FF. (Plus - its a nice bonus when your opponent's QB goes down in the first quarter! haha)

What about when a WR throws a pass? What about when one QB throws to another? No team starts two QBs, but some use two QBs on certain plays.
What about when your team only throws for 100 yards and two interceptions? Do you want Yahoo to give a win then too?

Whoever supports this idea supports trophies for everybody even if they are terrible. Waaaaaah! My quarterback got hurt, it's not fair.

Spontaneous injuries are part of the game. If your QB goes down, tough luck. Lame idea.

Then it would have to be Team RBs, Team WRs, team everything.

when your quarterback goes down in the first quarter you should be able to get your backup qb's points. this doesnt change the dynamic of drafting a cam newton. its the same thing just gives everyone a fair chance week to week when a qb goes down.

Its an average idea. would not bother me either way. some times you have the luck and root for your opponent's fantasy football QB to get hurt. all in fun, all part of the game injuries. but whats not cool is not locking in scoring for private cash games. I don't agree with that!

Let me elaborate. Let's say a league has 16 teams and we want to start every quarterback for every team (chaos, I know). So when we draft each fantasy team gets 2 starting quarterbacks to start. Ideally we would only allow 2 quarterbacks maximum for a team to own so no one would be down a quarterback. But what happens if one gets injured or sits? There is where the problem lies. We have used this system before a few years ago to great success on ESPN. I would just like the option there (our league switches settings every season to keep it fresh).

This option is very important for certain situations. ESPN has the option for this which is why I might move my league there. The next is copied from their settings website.
Quarterback (QB): If this option is selected the league will draft individual NFL quarterbacks. If the QB slot is selected the league cannot use the TQB option. The maximum number of starters at the QB slot is six (6).
Team Quarterback (TQB): All quarterbacks from a specified NFL team are included in this unique scoring option. If selected, the league will draft a team and will receive stats for all QBs who play for the NFL team. So if you have the Patriots QBs and Brady gets hurt in the first quarter, you'll get all the points put up by his replacement(s) for the remainder of the game. The max number of starters at the TQB slot is four (4).NOTE: If your league is set for each team to have a Team QB, you will be able to place the Team QB only in the Team QB position. So, if your league offers an Offensive Player Utility slot, you cannot place a Team QB in the Offensive Player Utility roster spot. However, if your league is set for individual QB players, you would be able to place your starting QB (Tom Brady for example) in the QB roster slot AND you could place your backup QB (David Garrard) in the Offensive Player Utility slot.
