[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Fantasy league message boards are no longer available but you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. Moving forward, we're investing in Fantasy Chat as the place for league communication and urge you to check out some of the recent improvements we've made like adding threading and pinning with polls coming soon.

If there isn't going to be a message board get rid of it my keeper league, I run has messages in it from 6,4, and 2 years ago. Under recent messages. Acutely my managers would like the message boards back up and running.

This decision is terrible. HOw do we do dynasty drafts? Almost 15 years at Yahoo, almost DONE!
You reversed decision allowing for legacy roster display, change your decision here. -

We need the message board. It's the main reason we use this platform. Without the message board, we cannot do our dynasty rookie drafts. The slow draft format allows the players in other states/countries a fair time to draft. Only having the chat feature ruins the league.
I cannot believe developers would put in such a change without seeking from those we have religiously used the platform for years. I mean even a nominal pay feature by the commissioner to use this option would be better than total removal.
Yahoo, you have in essence killed our dynasty!

The message board in my league is very import to post info that if there’s a dispute it’s been posted on my leagues message board for everyone to see in the event of a challenge or misunderstanding. Btw I am the commissioner of my league.

Who makes ignorant decisions like removing the Message Board without asking for feedback from the thousands of players who use it before they make such a move? Are you all drinking Bud Light? You call them "improvements" to justify your decision to change something that has worked fine for many years? Maybe we'll move our league to a different platform.

I don't like they are taking away Message boards. Horrible. May have to look at moving to a new platform.

This change is a real problem for my many leagues on Yahoo. We used message boards to conduct slow timer offline drafts, keep track of all sorts of off-season transactions (draft pick and player trades for example), draft order changes for the following season, post and discuss league rules, etc... None of these processes are easily done with the chat feature. If we are stuck using only the chat feature, it would be incredibly helpful if the developers would enable the old message board posts to be interpreted by and displayed in tabs within the chat feature, so we don't have to go hunting through multiple links to access previous seasons' message board posts. The chat feature needs to offer an obvious and easy way to categorize and separate message threads like the old message boards did.

We used message boards to post draft orders, rules, payouts, current and past keeper information, etc. Each of these had its own message with made it easy to organize and read.
I tried using the new chat feature and "pinning" these things. I try laying it out in the chat so it is nice and spaced out. Then I pinned the message. If you go click "All Pins" it gets rid of the organized message and smooshes it all together so it is difficult to read and understand.
Getting rid of the message boards is an absolutely horrible decision. I'm hoping this gets changed back before the season starts or we will be moving our long time keeper league to a different site.

Absolute garbage idea. Chat is a useless feature that no one likes and in no way replaces message boards. What's worse is that you already know the feedback from doing this in baseball is that EVERYONE HATES IT! Everyone. And you're doing it anyway.

I'm ok with the change to chat instead of messaging. I also think you need to add a DARK MODE ! I've been screaming and begging for it for years. The bright white screen gives me a Migraine and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Stat-Tracker has a dark mode so I don't understand why Yahoo won't add one, it would be such a simple change to make and it would benefit so many people and maybe even bring new people to Yahoo Fantasy.

So instead of improving the message board (which was fine), a bunch of nerds got together with other nerds and came up with with ****. It sucks

Two longtime baseball leagues already moved to Fantrax as a result of this decision.
Three longtime football leagues are moving to Fantrax as a result of this decision.
Will be moving another three longtime basketball leagues to Fantrax as a result of this decision.
Now that I've seen this new, magical chat application, the decision to move all our leagues is absolutely justified.

We used these for league announcements, keepers, draft order, historical posts, weekly matchups... Pushing all of this into a chat that not everyone wants to use is awful. This completely removed permanent long-form content to prioritize fleeting short-form chatting. Awful decision.

this is so pathetically funny .. how much money did you guys spend to create a chat app that is so convoluted that no one wants to use it .. does Yahoo understand that conversation is generally topical and not a stream of consciousness? .. did you have a kool-aide party and come up with this? .. and the worst part is you obviously didn't BETA the item or even ask what the users would like

You ask for feedback. No one likes it. So you what's your response? Seems like "too bad so sad".

We use message boards for almost everything, including posting trades, league announcements and everything else. I'm in total agreement with most of the commenters on here; why do we need to get rid of the message boards?! The chat feature might be cool but leave the boards as they are. It seems like a much easier way to historically keep track of league changes and its very fun to look back over the years and see those things. Our league has been on Yahoo for 17 years now and we consistently look back at message boards from years past.

Well this might be a niche thing amongst leagues but I have been tracking and compiling team stats, trends, other fun observations between matchups each week for the past 6 or 7 years now for our league (12 man league, bunch of longtime friends) and have utilized the message boards to post my weekly write ups. They're just for entertainment purposes but I enjoy it and many of my friends do as well. Over the years Yahoo has made it more and more frustrating for me to post anything of substance. They removed pretty much all formatting options and features and left a bare bones text format. Can't even make things bold. How hard is that? Especially when the functionality used to exist yet they keep removing these features. Now even with all that, I'll take the bare bones text format over nothing at all. I just can't understand why Yahoo always feels the need to remove things from their platform because all it does is make is less enjoyable.
