[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Fantasy league message boards are no longer available but you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. Moving forward, we're investing in Fantasy Chat as the place for league communication and urge you to check out some of the recent improvements we've made like adding threading and pinning with polls coming soon.

Message boards were essential for us to look back at what transpired from the previous seasons, regarding league rules we voted on, The Final Tally and Trade votes. Using a chat board it is hard to search for this data because it gets filled up with chatter. Please bring back the message board.

The message board is a personalized option. Why create a garbled mess that is the chat room? I know Yahoo doesn't care, they will take these notes and just bury them. The only way they will listen is to leave the format in droves. I've had at minimum 3 leagues with more that 21 yrs of history, and have petitioned to stay in the yahoo format when members have wanted to leave. As a commissioner of 6 long tenured leagues, I will longer object to moving. I will start looking for a format that will offer a more connected format.
As one league manager stated:
Not a fan of removing the message boards. I used to do write ups on them and the League Chat doesn't and will never give it the same feel. I use those to give my owners a great experience. Everyone loves something written about them and with no message board, it won't feel the same.
How do I do that in an informal, not personal chat. Where everything just becomes this confusing mess. It's the main reason I didn't use the chat before.

This is awful! How are managers supposed to see when the commissioner makes changes to league settings! What about league transactions? Is that moving to this new chatbot? Out of the millions of changes Yahoo could make, this is by far one of the worst!!! Am I going to have to log into some chatbot to see these changes? Having league messages on the same page as my team page made league change messages super easy to see. This is a terrible change. If Yahoo keeps ruining their product I may have to move my league to Sleeper, or another user friendly service. So sad...

I know that in every venue, from Fortune 500 companies to fantasy football outlets, the goal is to seek change for the better. However, sometimes that change may run their CUSTOMER base right out the door and into the hands of the competition. In this case, CBS, ESPN, & NFL.com. Communication is the driving force behind a successful season for the commissioner and the player. Yahoo just made it that much more difficult with this change.

for the love of God please bring back the message board. this new "fantasy chat" doesn't do anything that the old message board couldn't. We post all weekly updates there and can easily filter thru all important messages. Why change something that wasn't even broken??

What a terrible move by Yahoo Fantasy. It was the only location to post formatted messages officially (on Yahoo Fantasy).
Whoever approved this change is out of touch with the world.

Chats are terrible. Message Boards are so much better. No one wants to thumb through all the add/drops to find messages that aren't pinned. Just a dumb decision by Yahoo.

I'm sad to see the league message board go away as this was where we posted all our league updates. Usually between 14-20 per year, that now will get buried in the league chat or have a massive Commish note that is too long to read.
I see that you can now pin message which helps. Yahoo needs to provide an @all option like Sleeper does so everyone can be notified of important information in the league chat. The only current option is to @ every single member in the league individually which is a pain.

You need to allow each league to have more than one message board because messages get buried with all the add/drop notifications.

For our league, we are a keeper league with contracts. Other than one franchise player, you can only keep a player for four years. It is a complicated system so every year, I have to post the keeper options for the majority of the league. It is easier for them to find it on the message board than email. In the message board everyone else can see it as well. We also use the message board to discuss rule changes. We can do this by email. The problem is that some people get so many emails that the league email gets lost. The message board is easy to find on the league page, or it was.

To continue on my last feedback about this. I have several participants that turn off notifications from the chat because theyare tired of their phone ringing with every post. I cannot begin to explain how disappointed I and my league are by this pooly thoughtout and selfish change. Why would people want to continue using this site if they are unable to effectively share information? This is ********!!

This is YET ANOTHER example of Yahoo obviously having too much time on their hands. The message board was of great importance for my league. This is where guidlines, rules and suggestions for us to improve our league are posted. This is where voting happens and results can be easily recovered. Thischat feature now creates a messy and unorganized environment. Now if we wish to post, vote or give feedback. We need to search through MANY messages since the chat option has always been used for participants to engage in friendly banter and trash talk. Now if I create a post for suggestions, I have to wade through dozens of messages for everyones feedback. People at Yahoo seem incapable of leaving well enough alone. Everytime something works, somebody undoubtedlyfeel it necessary to change because they want to without a concern of how it will negatively impact the experience for users. BIG FAIL!!!!! This is quickly becoming one of the worst fantasy options.

We used message to list rule changes and league votes on changes. as well as the Commish I would use it to list keepers and draft dates. league chat doesn't meet the needs of our league and its seriously disappointing you disabled it

what are you guys talking about? Why would you cut the message board - the most important tool for communication among GM's, and is essential for Dynasty Leagues. Been running our Dynasty NBA League through Yahoo since '99, NFL since '08.. i couldn't fathom why you guys would cut the message board (except for pushing the app). The thing is, I've talked to some guys in my league who say they've been in leagues where nobody uses the message board - but they don't communicate through the 'Y! Chat" feature.. they just text using group chats..
Some of us still enjoy the desktop/laptop UI experience. Here's a crazy idea.. Allow message boards to stay, with the option of customizing your league page by x'ing it out. Or give Commissioner's the option to remove it from their leagues. I have a lot of friends who use group texts to communicate. I'm not trying to do that. I have guys in my league in a bunch of random time zones. As a dynasty commish we use the message board for everything important - League Dues, Draft orders, future picks that have been traded, players who are owned but aren't on the active Y! roster. Reminders about trade deadlines. Maybe I'm in the minority, I haven't looked through the current feedback, but to me this makes no sense. Surely, keeping the message boards doesn't require a bunch of coders working on it constantly.. Just give us the option to With so much competition these days why would you cut features? Especially those that have become a staple within the product.

No Message board sucks. I do a weekly review and post it to the league message board... We all look forward to the message board and the banter back and forth on certain posts. I REALLY DO NOT LIKE this change and will consider changing platforms if this doesnt return. We've been using Yahoo for 12 years in our league... I would hate to change... but will.
