[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Fantasy league message boards are no longer available but you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. Moving forward, we're investing in Fantasy Chat as the place for league communication and urge you to check out some of the recent improvements we've made like adding threading and pinning with polls coming soon.

I'm not a fan of this format. As the commish of my league, I find I'm unable to delete posts on my chat thread that date back to last season! Most of these are simple adds and drops. I preferred the Message Board, where I could communicate with all players at once, get feedback, and delete old posts to eliminate clutter.

Why would you remove something that has worked extremely well for years?? Who comes up with these type of idiotic changes without asking for feedback from those who have used the message board for YEARS? Is this your attempt at 'wokeness'?? It worked out well for Bud Light, and you may reap the same. Leave the message boards as they have been for years, and stop proclaiming you are making 'improvements'!

Being an NFL fantasy commissioner the last few years has been difficult. Yahoo just made it even more arduous. To a team, every owner in my various leagues hate this change. Pinned chat threads is not an acceptable alternative. Message boards were vital for our keeper processes, rule changes/discussions, and record keeping. Now dealing with the fallout and most owners wanting to move our leagues to various other host sites.

Our league has a feature called "Swami". Each week one manager predicts in a who will win the head to head competition in their own unique way, via the message board. We connect and use the message board to keep the league interesting. Otherwise, it gets pretty boring about half way through the league and managers just log in on Sunday mornings and forget about yahoo sports throughout the rest of the week. Why not let leagues try chat and also keep message board?

I just got done reading the posts that were before me and I am right with everyone...….There are other sports site out there to go to. When YAHOO starts losing players they might reconsider. It is vital that the message board remains not only to smack talk but also to communicate to the players about trades and other issues.

Fantasy sports is ALL about hanging with your friends that because of life issues, (work, kids, family issues etc.) you don't normally get to do as much with as you get older. I love being able to make a little remark about opening up a can of WHOOP *** on my buddy as much as I like getting it when I'm on the receiving end of the beatdown. I seriously hope that you reconsider and put the messenger board back up or you will lose a lot of players to other fantasy sites. ESPN, NFL and MLB.com, to name a few. It's part of the game.

Terrible idea - I usually use the message board to get info across to the entire league, but now I will have to group text them........ I would never recommend this site for any fantasy leagues whatsoever

DEAR YAHOO……it seems like EVERYONE’s response here is TO KEEP THE MESSAGE BOARD which is a vital communication tool and Corporate record of all that is agreed to and voted on during a league. A lot of these leagues are Money Leagues and as such must be run with a ongoing record of communication and policy changes that Everyone can see and access at all times. Please Do not give us a Stupid Chat button….these leagues are more run as a BUSINESS with Money involved…and we need the message boards as a matter of record for communication…..for all members to see and follow. No one here wants a chat feature, if we wanted that stupid feature we would just chat on Facebook or Twitter…..The message board serves as a League’s ongoing Corporate Record……do Not get rid of it…..for a stupid social chat button feature !!!!!!!!!!!!

Having the Message board was CRITICAL for our league, in terms of announcing New League Policies and communication to all members. It also allowed members to access the information posted there at a time convienent for them. And it stood there as a record of everyone’s conversation or their Vote on league policy. Getting rid of the Message Board in favor or a chat feature IS A HORRIBLE IDEA….The mesage board served as a Historical Notes log for the league where everyone could review it and it stood Up and open for all to see…..It was our League Corporate Record, that all could review Thru out the season……giving us a STUPID CHAT FEATURE AND GETTING RID OF THE MESSAGE BOARD IS REALLY REALLY BAD. We run this like a business…..and dont need a stupid Social feature like a Chat button. Complete Yahoo ***** up to get rid of the most important communication feature that you need to converse w all league members….who will access it….at different times.

The message boards were VERY IMPORTANT in keeper leagues. Please bring it back

Disappointed that message board was removed. My teams are used to looking there for important information and being able to discuss those issues in live time. The list formatting of the board allowed people to easily sort posts by topic and importance; a chat feature likely won't do that.

Thank you for adding back in threads and polls. Both are extremely helpful in administration and fun. I still wish the message board was included. I know friends of mine in fantasy baseball have gone to setting up a facebook group for communication since the message board was removed

This is a dumb idea, info gets lost in chats. I'll likely move my league of 20+ years to Sleeper at this point. Awful decision on your part.

The message board is vital to the enhanced enjoyment of my league. I've run my league in yahoo since 2005 and kept a running history that includes things like how everyone has fared against each other H2H, win streaks against individual opponents, and tons of various all time lists...who has faced each other the most...most wins against an opponent, win streaks against each other, etc. Which I post for matchups each week, I also post a recap blog of how match ups turned out and how it effects playoff possibilities, very similar to the one yahoo posts but with more personalized info(and since I started mine before you did you might owe me royalties). I also do a ton of end of the years stats with lifetime records as well as a breakdown of the draft with a Best and Worst from each round which literally has to be split between multiple messages because of all the info involved and maximum characters allowed. Needless to say there is a lot of copy and pasting involved that I can only do from my PC. Everyone in my league loves stats and the anomalies that pop up with them so if you're not going to provide a way to continue that then I'll find a site that will. Whoever decided it was a good idea to remove the message board should be fired immediately, it's nonsense its even got to this point and that myself and apparently so many others by the looks of it are having to waste our time explaining this to you!!

This new format for chats is a travesty. I am trying to think of a decision I have encountered on any level over my 47 years on this planet that was as misguided as this one. It’s absolutely top 10. What is the real purpose? The old format made it possible to discuss trades and help managers organize and view topics easily. Please go back to the old message board format. I am looking at moving this league to another platform because this is that bad of a decision. I have a feeling others will as well

Anyone at Yahoo: Please explain the rationale behind eliminating the message board. Unless some revolutionary point is presented, this is the worst decision in the history of bad decisions with your site.
I'm not going to waste time elaborating on the different reasons this is horrible. Anyone with the slightest fantasy sports leadership acumen already knows why this is incredibly stupid. Are you trying to drive people to ESPN? Is that the goal?

Message board is a critically important tool for league administration and communication

bring back the message board and bring back the "poll" feature. The poll feature allowed the commissioner to ask the league to vote for keeper league rule changes and respond to other questions. Add it a weekly and overall tally for message board posts by team managers. I would use this to give rewards for those who make the most posts.

I have been a yahoo commissioner and player for decades. I am very disapointed with the message board being taken away. I was also bummed when the "poll" feature was deactivated. I actually used the message board to award extra budget aquisition dollars for weekly posts to help keep banter alive. The chat feature does not allow to follow "message threads" which is critical in keeping track of responses to questions and topics. The message board is the VERY FAVORITE part of the league for me.

We have multiple keeper leagues on Yahoo and used the message board to post, and reply to the post with confirmations of keepers. Throughout the year the entire league times many leagues were all able to go to one spot quickly from app or desktop to see who the keepers were to make trades. Now it looks like either the Commish has to track down every single manager including the "hey, that was today" guy to compile the list by the deadline(s) and post as a Commish Note, incredible amount of more work for a Commish. Or it gets thrown into the chat and by Week 10 managers are scrolling for hours in the chat trying to find the leagues' keepers, times each league. Not all messages are equal, chat is trash talking, message board was administrative, now Yahoo is making administration exponentially more difficult. Why did the trade get vetoed, look to the message board for what rule was broken and then everyone understands, so simple, now likely to be much more confusion and frustration which is what playing fantasy football is to escape. I also experienced the same issue of entering one chat then had to shut down the app to get out of that one chat. If I have to end and restart my app multiple times a day I will assure you this will get old fast. I am for the first time in 20 years looking at new platforms.
