Playoffs - Two week playoff matchups
This feature would allow commissioners to implement 2 week long playoff matchups for their league.

I’ve won the Presidents Trophy by a pretty significant margin 3 years running, but every year I’ve gotten snared by Lady Luck in a one-week playoff matchup. There are only a few options for constructing the length of each playoff matchup, and I’ve been forced to choose between including the last week of the regular season to get at least a two-week final (when many all-stars are being rested) and omitting the final week (with all rounds being a standard one-week matchup).
Obviously, any NHL team (or fantasy team) can beat any other team in any given matchup, thus the NHL playoffs are a best-of-7 series to increase the likelihood that the better team wins. In my 12 team league (6 make the playoffs) I didn’t think it was asking for very much to have:-Round 1: 1st and 2nd place get a bye, and the other 4 teams play a one-week matchup.
-Semifinals and finals are two weeks each.
-Season ends 1 week before the NHL regular season.(Or just more customizability for playoff matchup length in general)

The current standard tiebreaker (Higher seed wins) in Head-to-Head is terrible and is literally the worst tiebreaker option anyone could think of. It makes it so that the tiebreaker has nothing to do with the matchup against the actual opponent that week. Any other option would be better.
I don't mind the other option, which is your record against that opponent in the regular season, so switching to that as the standard would be an improvement. But I think there are other options that would be even better, here are some:
In standard leagues, we score Goals and Assists, so how about making a tiebreaker Points, so that it's a "separate" stat.
Or overall score for that week, so a sum of all the counted stats (Goals, Assists, +/-, Shots, Hits, Wins, and Shutouts).
Or anything else, really. Higher seed wins is the worst tiebreaker imaginable.

I’d like to see an option to make a playoff round last three weeks even. Two at a minimum.

There should be an option to make the playoffs last two or three weeks in fantasy hockey. A seven game playoff series in the NHL lasts more than two weeks. A two or three week option makes the champion less of a **** shoot.

This should be a top priority - Our league has remained on ESPN because of this lack of functionality. Would definitely make the switch if this was available.

i agree with this 100%. long overdue! the managers work hard prior to the draft and especially during the season so make 8 team playoffs 2 week rounds already!!

Having 2 week playoff formats for 12 team leagues. Espn offers that option however we all prefer the yahoo platform! our regular is 16 or 18 weeks and the 3 playoffs rounds are each 2 weeks. YOU NEED TO MAKE THIS AN OPTION!!

I flagged this by accident but I 100% support this idea. Dumb as **** to not have this as an option

This is huge. Fantraxx has it, ESPN has it. Head to Head is the most popular system in leagues. My favorite but it is because of this reason I lean towards Fantraxx. to base your whole season on one week of playoffs is silly. You could loose simply because the other team has more games that week.
Customizing stats and league set up is what sets Fantraxx so far ahead of Yahoo! If yahoo upped their customization options they would be my favorite by far

If it's too difficult/costly to provide this option for next year, then so be it, but just tell us then.
I propose: include option for when to start/finish playoffs,as you do now. Then add an option to include a two-week championship or not. If yes, you can automatically populate which weeks based on the start/finish of the playoffs. Still same number of playoff rounds as currently offered, you're just providing one extra option to combine Week 23/24 or Extend Week 24 into the last week of NHL season.

I see that Yahoo automatically made Week 24 into a two-week final (3/26 to 4/7). However, this includes the last week of the NHL season (first week of April).
Can you please include an option to change this? It would be preferable to allow league owners the choice on when they want their two-week championship because my league wants a two-week final but for it to run Week 23 thru Week 24 (3/19-4/1) in order to avoid that first week of April when NHL teams begin to rest or shut down players.Alternatively, you only provide a two-week championship option when you select to begin playoffs in Week 22 rather than the Week 21, Week 22, Week 23/24 format I've suggested.
It would be a simple change, just write the code to include a separate option on if leagues want a two-week championship round. If Yes, they can select which dates and then the playoff format can adjust to that selection. Or include a few different default options like you do now.

The default is still one week final. No option to extend or combine weeks for the championship. My league has been wanting this option for years. Please add.

The finals is 13 days long this year. And you can change it.

Please give Yahoo users the option of picking a 1 week or a two week finals. All you are giving us at the moment is 1 week and there is no choice. We do not want you to change the format for all leagues, just make it an option please. That can not be that hard to implement.
-
John Costanzo commented
Please. Programmers. Add the option. this is all we want. The choice of either 1 or two week finals. such an easy thing to do. I mean, can it be that hard? week 22 and 23 finals.

John Costanzo commented
I agree with this post. We need this back. It just means managers have a choice to do one week or two week finals. Doesn't lock it in for all leagues.

Currently this is not an option.
https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN6833.htmlMy league has used 6 team playoffs with 4 team consolation format for the past 2 years. We want all teams playing in the final weeks to determine each final spot. (1st-10th place) We even have trophies for last place so it's a big deal to us.
This year we have a 12 man league and liked the option of an 8 team playoff over 6 because there would be no bye weeks which is preffered for us. What we did not know is that this means there would not be a consolation bracket for the bottom 4 teams and they would not even play.
So this definitely needs to become an option, and I'm not too sure why it isn't already. 8 teams would compete for championship and bottom 4 compete for 9th-12th place.
