GOALIE POINTS MATTER!!! -
Scott Cowan commented
Set up category averages for Head-to-Head (Goals per game, etc.) with a minimum threshold for games played to meet every week. Much like how goalies currently work.

Victor Wong commented
I would like to see leagues be able to assign a point value for goalies that lose in overtime.

Please - is there any way to add Defense specific scoring to the Yahoo Hockey Pool scoring? Even if it was just one category of "Defense Points" where commissioners could make any D scoring worth 1.5 or 1.25 or what ever they choose. Currently there is no possible way to set up scoring so that the top Defense come close to the top forwards in fantasy scoring. Please consider this. Thank you.

You have 5-year-old and older requests re: position eligibility that are still "gathering feedback," and are ranked at or near the top of this section, as if they're relevant. What a joke.
We have been clamoring for inclusion of FO% (not to mention takeaways/giveaways) for SEVERAL years; the only response we've received is silence, and the highest the request has been ranked on your list is about 11th. I'm not buying it.
If you cared to do anything about it, you easily could. Why not just admit that you couldn't care less what people want? At least get back to people and tell them to **** off. It'd be better than pretending you're giving us a voice and just ignoring us.

This needs to be implemented for category leagues. Power play points are good, but we'd like to count shorthanded points as well - problem is if SHP is counted as its own category then it'd be more or less a luck based category since most teams wont rack up very many SHP each week. A STP category combining PPP and SHP would be perfect, adding value to players who play shorthanded while eliminating the luck aspect of winning or losing an entire category just because one player decides to score shorthanded that week.

Similar to wide receivers throwing a touchdown in football and it counting towards fantasy points, goals and assists that a goalie is awarded in real life should count toward fantasy points

on your NHL roster "My team" or looking at other manager's team, matters if players have same amount of pts but played 20 games fewer. Huge diff this year with all the covid postponed games

agreed! time to step up your game, Yahoo.

Faceoff Wins is a staple category in my league, but it would be cool if there were some consequence for having a guy go 4/13 from the faceoff dot. FOW and FOL are separate categories... why not add one to combine them?

Major penalties should be a positive stat while minor penalties should be a negative stat
I've been ask for this for 20 years
I don't think it will happen

Yahoo hasn't added a Hockey category in 20 years. It would be nice to get some Next Gen stats. FO% would go well with FW category.
Giveaways and takeaways is a nice add. I would be shocked if they added any category

Yahoo has had the same scoring categories for decades. Please add Takeaways, Giveaways, Faceoff percentage to name a few on Skating.
Over Time loss, Points (goal/Assist), Time on Ice for Goal tending.

If a goalie earns 2 points for a win and 1 point for an OT/SO loss for his team in real life, shouldn't we be able to have the option to add a stat value for an OT/SO loss in Fantasy?

Average Time On Ice (ATOI) should be a scoring category. This is a really fun stat that can make certain players more valuable and add a new strategic element when building a team.

David Goodburn commented
It adds PPP and SHP, both of which are currently categories.
It would be a good addition with hopefully little coding effort.

There wasn't a link for fantasy hockey, only baseball and football, so I used the generic sports link. Face offs are one of the most important trackable stats in hockey. To count only "faceoffs won" is foolish, because someone could lose 60% of their faceoffs, but still win a lot due to how many total faceoffs they take. To account for faceoffs won AND faceoffs lost, you'd currently have to use two stat categories to accomplish this. If yahoo would include an option for Faceoff %, this would only be a single (very important) stat that would give a clear picture of how good a given player is at winning faceoffs. If you count this stat the same way as you count batting average or ERA in baseball (by combining all players' earned stats and coming up with the team's percentage), this one simple move would vastly improve yahoo's fantasy hockey experience. Other fantasy services have offered this stat for many years now. Obviously hockey is not as important to yahoo as more popular fantasy sports like football or baseball, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try to offer the best possible product. Thanks.
