These changes are unnecessary, just like the changes made to yahoo mail.
The older version of yahoo e-mail was good. Now, you can't easily tell that you have attachments. It's just a small paper clip that is easy to miss. Yet they refuse to go back to the icons showing each individual attachment that used to be at the top of the e-mail.
Maybe if they tried to explain why these seemingly useless changes are better it might soften the transition. They only use platitudes like "it will improve your experience" or "it's better." Why not admit that it's because it's better for yahoo, not the user. This type of honesty, while still results in a lousy e-mail for the user, would at least resonate better with the user.
I just tried Bing and it's not bad at all.
