I have posted this in PM's Mann ki Baat, want Yahoo to publish in Yahoo column.
We all aware of the fact that India's major Occupation is Agriculture, around 75% of the Indian land is fertile and can be used for cultivation.
Agriculture contributes more than half to the India's GDP and we have to agree that we are badly in need of a Bigger Green Revolution in India.
Facts: People and Kids who born & bought up in Cities and Urban area are not even aware of what Agriculture is and what cultivation means.
The trend of Urbanising the Rural areas has been started a decade ago, Farmers son and daughter getting urbanized, not willing to make their
hands dirty working in the field and many other irrigation problems leading to less Farming, less Cultivation and We all know what would be
the impact of this in coming days if we won't wake up soon.
Increasing Awareness: Summer vacation is at the corner, For our kids we urban citizens plan some soft skill courses, put them to Summer camps, outings,
Family vacations, Swimming classes just to keep them busy and happy in this 2 month long vacation, instead of that why cant we send them to Villages to
teach them what is Agriculture, how we do cultivation, what is farming, how a farmer plans his cultivation cycle, what all technologies used in Farming
and other things related to Agriculture. Let's make them realise that Food is the only basic need for a living being then comes Serive jobs, Tech jobs,
Mobiles, TV, Entertainment & all. Let's make our younger generation to realise the importance on Agriculture and Farming, Let's make them Agriculture and
Farming a hobby, Let's educate our younger generation on Agriculture and Farming.
Impacts: If 1 in 10 kids take up Agriculture seriously we can begin Green Revolution in India,
If 2 in 10 kids take up Agriculture seriously we can solve Food scarsity in India,
If 3 in 10 kids take up Agriculture seriously we can stop importing Food from other countries,
If 4 in 10 kids take up Agriculture seriously we can Export Food other countries,
If 5 in 10 kids take up Agriculture seriously we can beat all other countries GDP and can feed entire world, India has that much fertile land.
Setups: We have to set up summer camps in villages, provide good infrastructure while learning, give proper training to let our kids undertand and
make it complusory for all the kids to attend it.
