At least with google or msn they do have an option to change language on the main page without having to log in to an account. Yahoo just discriminates on the country (even though Puerto Rico is not a country and is part of USA) and they decide which language you should be using. Thos is a very discriminating practice since I write www.yahoo.com on my mobile and it gets redirected to espanol.yahoo.com or something like that. I edit the hypelink from espanol to www and it again switches it. If a person wants to use a different language they should write .es at the end or something and if they don't know their countries code then www.yahoo.com should open in English and have an icon on the top to change language. People are the ones that are sopposed to select their preffered language not Yahoo. Everytime I ooen yahoo all I see is discrimination and prejudgment as they think everybody in that region should all speak only one language. Maybe someday this will be settled in Federal Court as more and more people get annoyed by this practice. Their is already a universal code for countries, why not tey to use those at the end so people can enjoy yahoo in their own languange that they understand and not in the language that yahoo decided people should be speaking. I I go to Asia I will be screwed because I do not understand not even one letter of their many alphabets. Get this issue corrected and maybe avoid a class action for discrimination. Better yet, do it to be innovative by using airport codes that are universal and regional and also because you care for your users. If a person un Puerto Rico for example wants yahoo in spanish the write www.yahoo.com/sju or sju.yahoo.com and so forth for all countries that access yahoo. That way you can deliver regional content to those that want it and www for the default English content if a person is just visiting that country or even some that live in a counrty and don't speak the language. In the meantime just ad the language icon so it would be easier for all of us. By the way, why should www default to Englush some might ask. Isn't this discrinitation? Please, let me choose the version of Yahoo I want for my default and KEEP IT THAT WAY! I have a link to us.yahoo.com because you cannot take my laptop/phone default language (english) and give me the US version of the site. This is the 21st century, what is your problem? Then, even when I'm reading in the US version, and I press the back button, often it gives me the spanish version, why? I didn't view that version, I was viewing the english version. My word, people, this is rocket science! When I choose us.yahoo.com always, always, always, give me us.yahoo.com.
