There should be a notification that you have not completed filling out your brackets when you submit it.
Your back ground was too dark. Make the selection screen clear and very visible and add something the makes it very clear your bracket is complete or incomplete especially when you submit it. Add flashing lights to indicate areas on your brackets that are not filled out.
