Fix the default location so that it is not tied to the IP server! Ridiculous to have to reset to my preferred location each time! I could care less where my service provider is and how their weather is. (2nd request)
Provide a way to delete "current location"
The weather app is really really bad. Why did you mess with it. I think most people want to see the weather, i.e. they want to know what is going to happen outside. I doubt that many people are focusing on the monthly trends etc. Just put uf the weather. There ar big storms coming and I keep tryiny Yahoo and then leaving for anywhere else. You don't have the info I want. That is, I want to find out the weather when I check the weather.
The "home" location only works if the ISP happens to be on one's hometown (rare with major ISP's). Get rid of this Detect and let us set our own location!
Make it possible to set a default location for weather information that is different from the on that is detected. My home is in Greeley, Colorado NOT Denver, Colorado where my ISP is located. Denver weather is worse that useless as far as I am concerned.
Fix it Dammit
I am unable to get my location on weather, I did in the old version. the one I get now is to far away to help much. Yahoo is changing to many things and so far I don't like any of them. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
I don't have an "update my current location" area/choice on my locations settings page. Just a "detect" button which says could not detect?????? I hate the new weather "experience!
As noted by many others, the server which assigns my IP address must reside 75 miles from my actual location, so being unable to override this with a manual specification of actual location is ridiculous. Also, Firefox offers only a "Detect" option in on the Locations Edit page (not the "Update my current location" button referred to in your unhelpful instructions), and IE 9 has NO button whatsoever to the right of the "My current location" listing. So we're stuck with a 2-step process to select my actual location every time I want to see truly local weather information. BAD IDEA to allow any piece of idiot software to determine where I really am for me!
When you print a "fix" on how to correct the erroneous default location make sure it works. Your inadequacies are annoying.
I am removing yahoo weather until you stop giving us a "Current" weather location that is NO WHERE near our actual location. It is exhausting and frustrating to have to reset my location EVERY SINGLE time I want to check the weather. This new feature is a HUGE FAIL, and you are obviously unwilling to fix it.
I don't ******* live in Waverly, OH. I live in Athens, OH. I have never been to Waverly, OH. Your ******* default location SUCKS. Let me pick my location. If you don't like my language fix your site or kick me off. Read all the complaints!!!! What does it take to get you to do anything! I doubt if you even read these!!!!!!!!
"We are pleased to let you know that Yahoo has changed the websites to provide you by default with information about your current location." STOP doing this! You are only telling us the weather for the location of our IP server! You are giving us weather for locations sometimes 100's of miles away. It is annoying to have to reset our location manually every time.
Realy tired of having some place other than my home show as 'my location.' Really need to fix this issue ASAP.
Let US decide where we are located and NEVER change it. Your location awareness on the website is relatively clueless, and only makes the weather widget annoying as ****. To the point that I have removed it from my home page. Trust your users please? Most of us actually KNOW where we live and do not need a bad script to cough up the wrong locationevery time we log in. Thanks.
Make it possible to change unentered location to correct location.
Go back to the old format ... that is my idea.
GET IT RIGHT!!!!!
It is rediculous to have the IP server as a current location. Let the user Yahoo customer set his/her current location.
I want the old home page back. This is the worst example of current technology in the marketplace.
Is this being fixed??? Anybody out there???? HELLO!!

Yahoo says it's "gathering feedback." There's been enough feedback. We don't want our ISP's server location to be our current location. How simple can this get?
lubbock texas is my location

for a long time the weather defaulter to huachacha someplace. i don't know where TF that is. Now it says Newark NJ. I am in upstate NY I finally deleted yahoo weather off my favorites bar because its useless if i want one click weather. I am using forecast.weather.gov now.
you shouldn't even offer weather if you cant do it right to the most basic needs.
LOL. Here I sit in Massachusetts, and my default location is 'Ciudad de Panama'. Laughable, Yahoo. Fail
'Default Location' is just awful. Terrible. Let me choose my default location and allow me to turn off 'Detect my location'. Major stumble, Yahoo.
I'm the Anonymous in Monterey/Salinas/Castroville/Marina.
I finally got the weather page to change my default location...
...to "California, USA." *sigh*
My ISP is in Monterey. The DSL router I'm on is in Salinas. I need the weather for Castroville. My assigned default is Marina.
What the heck, Yahoo!?!?
I agree. I work in Mountain View, CA. I really don't care about San Francisco, and yet every time I check the weather, SF comes up as my default, and I keep trying to switch it over to MV. It used to work! What happened?
Why won't they fix this????? there was just some stuff in the last few weeks about Yahoo going to a new version on Jan 31, and lots of these problem reports are from 6-8 months ago, so the new version comes out and its still NOT fixed!!!!
Why tie the users current location to an IP server location???? A location that could be anywhere??? And why not allow the user to set his OWN current location????
I can't add anything to what Andy said here. Driving me crazy changing the location all the time.
fix it soon or I will find another service. I have used myYahoo since it was created but have no problem moving to a different service. This new default location is worthless to me

Please correct this, when I try to it won't work, it says you can't detect my location and I may need to give you permission. I don't know what that means, I can't do anything to get the location changed. The town you have me in is an hour away from me. If you can't detect where I am why is anything there?
Amen to the comment above!!
I agree I'm not in London I'm in Wales - I know where I am, you don't, so let me set it ;-)
And please fix it Sooner, rather than later! You seem to be making a lot of people very unhappy with their forecast (including myself).
